A message from our Executive Director:

Jordan Fairchild to leave Keep The Promise Coalition
Dear KTP Community,
It is with a heavy heart that I announce my resignation as Director of Keep The Promise Coalition, effective January 31st, 2025. I am incredibly grateful for the long days and late nights spent with everyone who was part of our organizing, activism, and advocacy at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford and beyond.
I truly appreciate the opportunities we’ve had to grow together as a community. While I am leaving my role as Executive Director, I will not be far away, and it is my hope that KTP will continue its focus on Mad liberation and fight for self-determination and autonomy of our lives, bodies, and minds. Our fight against psychiatric oppression must continue to shine light on the struggles faced by those of us who live in the margins and intersections of oppression. Especially within this new Trump administration, we must continue to resist the expansion of forced treatment, involuntary commitments, and pathologization and criminalization of our distress and diverse ways of being. These violent policies rob us our autonomy and disproportionately harm our Black and Brown, disabled, immigrant, and trans and q***r communities. Similarly, we must continue our fight for deinstitutionalization, abolition of the Psychiatric Security Review Board, and investment in human rights-based, liberatory alternatives. It is critical that in carrying out this work, KTP continues to be led by and for people with lived experience.
It has been an honor and a privilege serving as KTP’s Executive Director and being in community with all of you, and I hope you stay in touch. You can find me continuing the work toward Mad liberation and abolition in my new position as Director of Wild Ivy Social Justice Network for the Wildflower Alliance in Massachusetts.
We will begin the search for a new Executive Director soon, and in the meantime, I will be staying on as a consultant to help KTP through this transition.
