Recently, Bedside Harpist Nina Rubin and Accompanist Pam Reiss kicked off the Holiday season with a performance in the Spagnoli Family Cancer Center at Garnet Health Medical Center lobby.

Known as the “Penina Duo,” these two musicians spread joy year-round by showcasing their love of music, performing classical and contemporary pieces for local audiences.

You can spot them periodically performing in one of the lobby areas at Garnet Health Medical Center throughout the year.

Garnet Health Doctors is excited to welcome its new Part-Time Trauma Surgeon, John Bliton, MD!

Dr. Bliton is a board-certified general surgeon with fellowship training in surgical critical care. He brings extensive expertise in trauma and acute care surgery, having served at multiple Level I and Level II trauma centers.

Dr. Bliton will provide inpatient trauma coverage for Garnet Health Medical Center and will not be holding office hours at this time.

Join Garnet Health for FREE Narcan Training, sponsored by Independent Living, Orange County Government, OASAS, and New York State.

Participants will learn how to recognize an overdose, administer Narcan, and use harm reduction techniques. Attendees will leave with a dose of Narcan.

On December 17, please join us for a festive toy giveaway, hosted by the Town of Wallkill PBA!

First, the PBA will be dressed in festive costumes as they make rounds to hand out toys to our tiny patients. Then, a FREE meet and greet will be set up in the Garnet Health Medical Center, Outpatient Services Building Lobby where toys will be given away to children as they come through our doors.

All are welcome!

Also featured will be a pop-up market filled with a series of vendors – perfect for last-minute holiday gift shopping! 🛍 🙌

Join Garnet Health Medical Center, Ray W. Moody, M.D Breast Center for a FREE in-person beauty workshop on December 29 at 5:00 pm in the Radiation Oncology Conference Room! 💄✨🤲

This workshop provides hands-on makeup and skincare, as well as wigs and head covering techniques to help manage appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment.

Women 18 or older who are currently undergoing cancer treatment, about to undergo cancer treatment, or have recently completed cancer treatment (chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery, hormone therapy, or other forms of treatment) are eligible to attend.

December is International Sharps Injury Prevention Awareness Month 💉⚠️

Did you know Garnet Health Medical Center - Catskills, Harris Campus accepts used sharps for disposal, free of charge?

When disposing of used sharps, please be sure to properly place them in puncture proof containers such as a sharps container, laundry detergent bottle or bleach bottle. Screw-on caps are to be tightly secured and bottles are to be marked with "Contains Sharps".

Drop-offs are accepted between 8:00 am - 8:00 pm, 7 days a week. No appointment required.

This November, Garnet Health Surgical Services Leadership team, Sue Galaraga, Trista Carter, Jill Trotta, Lenica Bruce, and Alex Bravo, joined facilities nationwide in celebrating Perioperative Services Week!

Guided by the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses theme “Light the Path,” they honored the extraordinary teams who illuminate the way for patients, families, and surgical teams every day.

The week was filled with uplifting moments, including a special staff recognition presentation, inspiring videos, pet therapy, and more.
