Founded in 1964, Newport County Community Mental Health Center provides Trauma Informed, Evidence-based Services to children, adolescents, adults and families who are experiencing problems with mental illness, substance use or stress in their lives that would benefit from counseling and other behavioral health services and supports. Our person-centered recovery approach to care offers individuals a chance to achieve a better quality of life and recovery from emotional illness.

Our Rhode Island Outreach (RIO) vans are on the road in the community, engaging those who may need mental health or addiction support, before they reach a crisis that may require hospitalization or police involvement. The RIO teams include a medical specialist and clinician, serving Bristol and Newport counties and East Providence - working in complement with law enforcement, emergency personnel and other agencies to provide resources to those who need it.

Newport Mental Health's offices are closed on Tuesday, July 4, in observation of Independence Day. We are ALWAYS available by phone, 401-846-1213, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Offices are open today, Monday, July 3, and will reopen on Wednesday, July 5.
