Michael Mathews

Michael Mathews, 90, of Middletown, died on May 24, 2026 at his residence. He was born on June 9, 1935 in Kerasia, Doridos Greece to Vasilios K. and Ioanna (Liarou) Apostolopoulos.

He worked as a safety engineer at Armco Steel Corporation.

He was a member of AHEPA, Lion's Club, VFW Post #3809, The American Legion, Kentucky Colonels and Wildwood Golf Club. He was proud to have participated in an Honor Flight.

Michael is survived by his wife, Diana Sue (Henson) Mathews; daughter, Joanna Mathews; godson, Nick (Mary Beth) Svingos; goddaughter, Eleni (Peter) Glarum; sister, Nitsa Tsitouraus of Greece.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Rev. Constantine Mathews; sister, Voula Tangalos.

Visitation will be Monday, June 1, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 2500 Grand Avenue Middletown, OH.

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM at church with Father Jon McClish officiating.

Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery and Arboretum with military honors by Middletown Combined Honor Guard.

Memorial contributions may be made to Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 2500 Grand Avenue Middletown, OH. 45044.

Meet Kelley Spaulding, a proud member of the Spaulding Funeral Home and Crematory family.

Born and raised in Middletown, Kelley is a 1999 graduate of Madison High School and earned her degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Cincinnati in 2003. After 15 years in the dental field, she joined her husband Mark Spaulding, along with Judith and Ronald Spaulding, in continuing the family’s legacy of care.

Kelley brings compassion, dedication, and a deep connection to the community she calls home. Outside of work, she enjoys quilting and sewing, adding a personal touch of creativity to everything she does.

Michael "Big Mike" Bober, 84, of Middletown, died on May 16, 2026 at Atrium Medical Center ER. He was born on May 7, 1942 in New Castle, PA to Michael Andrew and Mary Victoria (Telesz) Bober.

"Big Mike" worked for Central Service at Middletown Regional Hospital/Atrium Medical Center for 18 years. He was co-owner and operator of Bober Refrigeration, contracted by Armco Steel, for 30 years.

"Big Mike" is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty Faye (Brown) Bober; daughter, Kim (Terry) Parker; son, Michael (Julia) Bober; grandchildren, Anthony Bober, Andrew Bober, Anna Bober, Angela Bober, Shelbie Parker and Lauryn Parker; brothers, Larry (Orpha) Bober and Jimmy (Judy) Bober.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be Friday, May 22, 2026 from 9:00 AM to10:30 AM at Holy Family Parish-St. John Church,1405 First Ave, Middletown, OH.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM at St. John's with Father John Civille officiating.

Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.

Donald Fermin Dohm

Donald Fermin Dohm, 80, of Monroe, passed away peacefully at his residence on May 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on January 31, 1946, in Wauseon, OH, Don was the son of Fermin and Doris (Bigbee) Dohm.

Raised in New Haven, IN, Don attended Central Bible College and dedicated his life to ministry and serving others. For more than 40 years, he faithfully pastored and ministered to congregations in Columbia City, IN, Coshocton, OH, East Liverpool, OH, Kingsport, TN, and Middletown, OH. His compassion, steady faith, and caring heart touched countless lives throughout the years.

More than anything, Don loved his family. He shared 61 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Linda Joyce Dohm. He was a devoted father to Christy (Kyle) Wade and Lance (Kristina) Dohm, and a proud grandfather to Morgan Wade, Halle Wade, Macy Wade, Dylan Dohm, Carter Dohm, and Mallory Dohm. He also leaves behind his sister, Bettie (Barry) Gilbert, along with many extended family members, friends, and those whose lives were blessed by his kindness and guidance.

Don will be remembered for his unwavering faith, gentle spirit, words of encouragement, and the love he showed to everyone he met. His legacy lives on through the family he cherished and the many people he faithfully served throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, David Dohm and Dan Dohm.

Visitation will be held Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Spaulding Funeral Home & Crematory, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown, OH.

A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Ed Cloninger officiating.

Interment will follow at Mound Cemetery.

Jenny E. Angst

Jenny E. Angst, 53, of Middletown, died on May 12, 2026. She was born on September 21, 1972 in Cincinnati, OH to Lane D. and Alice M. (Blankenship) Eby.

Jenny had a servant's heart. She had to be helpful to everyone, whether it was lending a hand or a ride. She participated in many clubs at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, She was dedicated to taking care of others and never met a stranger wherever she went. She brought everyone smiles and was everything good in humanity. Jenny was a force of nature and will be dearly missed. She worked at Home Depot and Kohl's warehouses, where she was a very competitive worker, winning many awards including Snickers and vending machine bucks. She was driven to exceed her daily quota at work. Her most rewarding and favorite career was caring for children in her home for 20 years. Powered by the sunshine and Diet Mt. Dew, she loved to travel, especially to Florida where she could recharge. She loved spending time at the pool. She loved good smells and carried a deck of cards wherever she went. She graduated from Edgewood High School in 1990 and earned her Bachelor's in Education from Miami University in 1994. As a teen, Jenny was a clogger and worked as a lifeguard.

Jenny is survived by her parents; husband of 30 years, Bobby Angst; children, Brittany Angst, Colby (Melanie) Angst, Ally Angst and Donovan Angst; sister, Cheryl (Steve) Habel; dog, Barley and a large group of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Nathan Eby, and her mother and father-in-law, Robert and Julia Angst.

Visitation will be Monday, May 18, 2026 from 4:00 PM to7:00 PM at Spaulding Funeral Home & Crematory, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd (at Bonita Dr.) Middletown, OH.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 171 Washington St., Hamilton, OH., with Father Jim Elsberend officiating.

Judith Ann "Judy" Fassler

Judith Ann Fassler, 65, of Middletown, passed away peacefully at home on May 11, 2026. She was born on October 17, 1960, in Middletown, Ohio, to Dwight Lee and Phoebe (Sullivan) Pearce.

Judy devoted more than 30 years of her life to nursing and caring for others. Throughout her career, she served patients at Middletown Regional Hospital and Hillspring Nursing Home. She also shared her knowledge, compassion, and experience with future nurses while teaching at Butler Tech. Her kindness, strength, and dedication to helping others left a lasting impact on countless lives.

Above all, Judy loved her family deeply. She will be remembered for her caring heart, resilience, sense of humor, and the unwavering support she gave to those she loved.

She is survived by her children, Eli Fassler, Heidi (Jake) Buelter, Hannah Fassler, and Holly Fassler; her beloved grandchildren, Amelia and Henry; her brother, Steven L. Pearce; and her sister, Margaret Ann “Peggy” (Don) Riepenhoff.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Spaulding Funeral Home & Crematory.

A memorial service will immediately follow at 12:00 PM at the funeral home.

A memorial picnic celebrating Judy’s life will follow at 2:00 PM at Armco Park Shelter 15.
