Meet Dr. Sara Axelrod, a dedicated allergist and immunologist who brings compassion, expertise, and a deep understanding of both adult and pediatric allergy care to her patients at ENT and Allergy Associates in East Brunswick.
She earned both her undergraduate degree and master’s in public health at the University of Michigan, focusing on Genetic Epidemiology. She went on to receive her medical degree from George Washington University and completed her residency at UMDNJ, followed by fellowship training in Allergy and Clinical Immunology at Winthrop University Hospital.
Dr. Axelrod is a member of several professional organizations, including the ACAAI, AAAAI, American College of Physicians, and American Public Health Association. She has been widely published in journals such as The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, The Annals of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, and The Mount Sinai Journal of Medicine, and has authored chapters in leading allergy and dermatology texts.
Her professional background includes work with the NIH-National Cancer Institute, the National Academy of Science, and the Henry Ford Health System. She also volunteered with the Disaster Relief Initiative in Belize, Central America.
At the heart of Dr. Axelrod’s practice is a personal connection to her work. As a mother of a child with food allergies, she understands firsthand the concerns and anxieties her patients and their families face. She uses this perspective to provide thoughtful, personalized care to every patient she sees.
Dr. Axelrod lives in Monmouth County with her husband and two sons. She is proud to serve her local community and to help patients of all ages manage allergies, asthma, and immune system conditions with confidence and clarity.
