We had the opportunity to participate in Blooming Grove Volunteer Ambulance and Campbell Hall Fire Department's Mass Casualty Incident Drill over the weekend. It was a great chance to work together, strengthen our skills, and prepare for large-scale emergencies as a team. Thank you for including us in this valuable training experience!

Back-to-School Safety Reminders

As our students head back to class, let’s all do our part to keep them safe:

✅ Slow down in school zones
✅ Stop for school buses when lights are flashing
✅ Watch carefully at crosswalks and intersections
✅ Stay alert—no texting and driving

A few extra seconds of patience can make all the difference in protecting our kids.

Let’s work together to make this school year a safe one for everyone in the Town of Wallkill!

When seconds count, visible house numbers help EMS, fire, and police get to you faster.

✔️ Numbers should be at least 4 inches tall
✔️ Place them where they’re visible from the street, day or night
✔️ Use a color that contrasts with your house (light on dark or dark on light)
✔️ Don’t let bushes, decorations, or snow cover them

Taking a few minutes to check your address numbers could save precious time in an emergency.

Did you know you can add an ICE (In Case of Emergency) contact on your phone? This gives first responders quick access to the person you’d want us to call if you’re ever unable to speak for yourself.

Here’s how:
- On iPhone: Open the Health app → Medical ID → Edit → Add Emergency Contact.
- On Android: Open Contacts → Select your emergency contact → Tap “Set as ICE.” (Some phones have a “Safety & Emergency” section in Settings.)

It only takes a minute—and it could make a big difference in an emergency.

We had a great time at Town of Wallkill Police Community Council Summer Cookout! Rain or shine, community comes first! Last week we joined the Police Community Council for their Summer Cookout—moved indoors thanks to the weather, but still full of good food, good company, and strong connections. We’re proud to stand alongside our partners in public safety and to be part of events that bring neighbors together.

Today we remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the bravery of the first responders, service members, and countless others who stepped forward in the face of tragedy. As we reflect on this day, we are reminded of the strength, unity, and resilience that carried our nation through. We will never forget.
