All CHC locations are closed today Thursday, Nov 27 in observance of Thanksgiving. Regular business hours will resume tomorrow Friday, Nov 28.

As we enter the coldest time of year, we are reminded of the importance of supporting our unhoused neighbors. When seen as a series of numbers in the headline, it can be hard to see the impact of homelessness. But when you put a face and a name and a story to every single number, these preventable deaths become all the more reason to find a solution for our unhoused community.

Next month, on Dec 18, join Community Health Center, Inc., Saint Vincent DePaul Middletown, the Church of the Holy Trinity, and local community members at the Annual Middlesex County Homeless Persons' Candlelight Vigil. Every year, we come together in solidarity to honor and remember those who have experienced homelessness and lost their lives in 2025.

Today, we would like to take a moment to recognize a Community Health Center staff member who is making a positive impact in their local community. Meet Ann Gomez, a Call Center Lead based in Plainville, Connecticut.

Ann and her husband started a turkey giveaway about 6 years ago, to help families in need during the holiday season. The families they assist are nominated by friends, family, and customers from their auto detailing shop. Families receive a turkey and a grocery store gift card to purchase the rest of their Thanksgiving meal.

She started doing the turkey giveaway because "we know what it’s like to struggle, so we decided that now that we are financially stable, we would do all we could to help others."

Join Community Health Center, Inc., Saint Vincent DePaul Middletown, the Church of Holy Trinity, and local community members to the Annual Middlesex County Homeless Persons' Candlelight Vigil. Every year we come together in solidarity to honor and remember those who have experienced homelessness and lost their lives in 2025.

Through your presence, it helps us fight homelessness by advocating for change by raising awareness of the systemic causes of preventable death and the need for more resources like housing, healthcare, and shelter.

Community Health Center, Inc. was founded in 1972 with the belief that health care is a right, not a privilege. We have grown from a single dental clinic in Middletown to 15 health centers across Connecticut that provide comprehensive primary health care to all, regardless of ability to pay.
