More often, it’s small patterns & habits that slowly weaken the foundation over time. Recognizing these factors early can help couples protect & strengthen the marriage.

These are just a few factors that can weaken your marriage:

👎 Poor communication: avoiding difficult conversations or constantly arguing without resolution can create distance & misunderstanding.

😤 Unresolved resentment: when feelings are hurt, ignored or brushed aside, they can build up & eventually turn into emotional walls.

🚫 Lack of quality time: busy schedules, work stress, & distractions can cause couples to slowly drift apart. Connection requires effort.

Learning to face anxiety with small, intentional steps can help retrain your mind & body. 🧘

Here’s 4 Steps to Overcoming Anxiety:

1️⃣ Don’t immediately leave the situation: when you escape every time anxiety shows up, your brain learns that the situation is dangerous. Staying present (when safe to do so) teaches your mind that you can handle the discomfort & that the feeling will pass. 😅

2️⃣ Breathe through it:
try a simple 15-second breathing exercise. Slowly inhale through your nose, hold briefly, & exhale through your mouth. Deep breathing signals your nervous system to calm down & helps reduce the intensity of anxious feelings. 😮‍💨

3️⃣ Write down your thoughts:
anxiety thrives in your head & when you put your thoughts on paper, you create distance from them & can start to see patterns, fears, & triggers more clearly. ✍️

4️⃣ Challenge anxious thoughts: ask yourself, “is what I’m thinking actually true? Anxiety often convinces us of worst-case scenarios that aren’t based on facts. Questioning those thoughts helps break the cycle. 🥊

Anxiety loses power when you slow down, question it, & stay present instead of running from it. You are stronger than the your anxiety. Remember, small steps lead to major progress.
