From employment support, to creative and recreational activities, to transportation and residential services, we help people with developmental disabilities enjoy life and help to build a more inclusive world. Our Maher Center team supports people with developmental disabilities in envisioning and creating full, happy lives that reflect their individual interests and aspirations. In the process, we enrich life on Aquidneck Island and throughout the East Bay by helping members of our Maher Center family work, volunteer for other nonprofits, participate in civic activities, and contribute in so many ways to the cities and towns in which they live. Are you contemplating the opportunity to become a provider? We encourage you to contact us for comprehensive support throughout this process. Shared Living allows individuals and families to foster a nurturing environment by welcoming a person with special needs into their home. We are committed to guiding you at every stage. You may already know someone you wish to include in a Shared Living Arrangement.
Please note that specific requirements must be fulfilled before you can be approved as a provider. If you're interested, give us a call, and we can help you explore this option. As a provider, you will be eligible for a tax-free stipend and tax-free room and board payments, which are determined based on a TIER classification.
