James L. Maher Center Life to its fullest. That's our mission. We're about community. Finally, we are so grateful for the support of our community.

From employment support, to creative and recreational activities, to transportation and residential services, we help people with developmental disabilities enjoy life and help to build a more inclusive world. Our Maher Center team supports people with developmental disabilities in envisioning and creating full, happy lives that reflect their individual interests and aspirations. In the process, we enrich life on Aquidneck Island and throughout the East Bay by helping members of our Maher Center family work, volunteer for other nonprofits, participate in civic activities, and contribute in so many ways to the cities and towns in which they live.
