We were so lucky to have had the opportunity to help Santa last week at Hawthorn Glen Care Community. Santa made sure EVERYONE received gifts and seeing their smiles and eyes light up as he visited every single room was a true example of the spirit of the season. 💜

📚 School is in Session! 📚

Last week, our nurse Amber met with 3rd and 5th graders at Mayfield Elementary to talk about what it’s like to be a nurse. With experience in both hospital care and home-based care, Amber highlighted the many directions a career in nursing can take you.

The students asked great questions, and Amber brought along her nursing bag so they could see and handle a few of the tools nurses use every day.

Thank you to Mayfield’s Passport to Tomorrow teacher, Mrs. Hannah Abbatiello, for inviting us in. We love having opportunities to encourage curiosity about healthcare careers and show students the impact nurses make across many settings.

The generosity of our staff and volunteers overflowed our lobby this week as gifts stacked under our Giving Tree.

Each year, our team adopts a family for Christmas, and once again everyone showed up with giving hearts. This year a family of seven will have a brighter holiday thanks to dozens of thoughtful gifts provided by our staff and volunteers. A big thank-you to our social worker, Lori, who coordinated the effort, and to volunteers Kathy and Melissa for joining Lori in a wrapping session.

We’re truly grateful for a team that steps in and supports local families when it matters most. 💜

🎄✨ We had a wonderful time last week celebrating the holiday season with our volunteers at our annual Christmas luncheon. Thank you to Keith and Debbie Clements for the homemade turkey, gravy, stuffing, and green bean casserole, and to everyone who brought a dish to share.

The fun included music, trivia games, and a cute rendition of “I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas” by our nurses, Julia and Sara, along with a special performance from our CEO and COO, Keith Clements and Beth McGuire. (And yes, they always dress like that! 🤣)

It’s always a fun time when our volunteers and staff come together to share stories, food, and laughter. 💜

(A special shout out to the Middletown Arts Center for always being such wonderful and accommodating hosts.)

Yesterday, some of our staff and their families joined the community in participating in Wreaths Across America to remember and honor our nation’s veterans for the holiday season. While honoring all who served, members of our team had the opportunity to visit the graves of their own loved ones who served in the military and place wreaths in personal remembrance. 🇺🇸
