❤️🤍💙 Honoring Our Veteran - William Hock ❤️🤍💙
We recently had the privilege of honoring Mr. William Hock and recognizing his dedicated service to our country.
Mr. Hock served in the Navy from 1960 to 1963, then continued in the Navy Reserves for four more years. Stationed at Yokosuka Naval Base in Japan, he was part of the Deck Force, working in maintenance. His service took him around the world—from Korea to Hawaii to various ports across Japan. He fondly recalled the “Asuka,” which appears to reference the JS Asuka, an experimental ship once spotted at the Yokosuka Naval Base.
Mr. Hock shared entertaining stories about the time-honored naval traditions for sailors crossing the equator for the first time, providing some insight into the strong bonds and unique experiences of life at sea.
Adding a personal touch to the ceremony, Mr. Hock’s son and daughter honored him with words of love, pride, and gratitude, and afterward, treated him to lunch at a local eatery he’s grown to love.
Please join us in thanking Mr. Hock for his sacrifice and service to our country. 🇺🇸
