❤️🤍💙 Honoring Our Veteran – Dr. Carlos Ongkiko ❤️🤍💙

Yesterday, we were honored to recognize Dr. Carlos Ongkiko for his service during Desert Storm, as friends and family joined in person and via Zoom to share in the ceremony.

Dr. Ongkiko served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Medical Corps, providing critical surgical care to injured service members. Originally scheduled to deploy to Kuwait, an influx of Blackhawk helicopter injuries led to him remaining at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Denver, where his expertise was needed most. (Fitzsimons served as a major military medical facility for decades and officially closed in the late 1990s.)

He and his wife, Sandy, will celebrate 60 years of marriage this June! We were honored to pin Sandy in recognition of her decades of commitment and support.

Join us in thanking Dr. Ongkiko for his service to our country and for his many years of dedicated care as a highly respected neurosurgeon serving our community. 🇺🇸
