PAWS for People officially launched a new site, Hands of Hope at Bethesda UMC in Middletown, Delaware on October 11th. Hands of Hope, alongside Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore and the Alzheimer’s Association, provides a respite program tailored to offer relief to caregivers and a safe, nurturing environment for those affected by Dementia, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s Disease. Currently, this group is small with 2-4 participants and 8-10 volunteers each session. They follow a social based model of care with the volunteers and participants engaging in activities such as music, games, movement exercise, art, and mission projects. PAWS is thrilled to bring loving pet therapy into this program to these very deserving individuals. PAWS Team, Aratrika Ghosh and her beautiful Goldendoodle, Tilly, joined in the fun and helped to open Hands of Hope. Aratrika & Tilly's gentle presence provided some much needed comfort and promoted a sense of connection amongst everyone in the group. Thank you, Aratrika & Tilly, for lending a helpful paw, for bringing about countless smiles. and for brightening the day!
