A Phan + a plan = a reunion 30+ years in the making! ✨As a child, Leann Evans loved going to Philadelphia Phillies games — and one of her fondest memories was being featured on a collector’s baseball card with Dave Raymond, the original Phillie Phanatic from 1978 to 1993.

With a little help from the DSADE, Leann and Dave reunited yesterday for the first time in over three decades. 💙💛

This heartwarming moment will be featured in the upcoming documentary Big Phan, releasing in 2026. We’re so grateful to have played a small part in this story of Phillies magic.

Thank you to the Tubby Raymond Fund for a great golf tournament yesterday!

Welcome to our new board member, Coleen Popp! Coleen (pictured with her son Brendan) is a valuable addition to our board, bringing years of nonprofit leadership and events expertise. A little bit about Coleen:

🧑🏼‍💻She is currently the senior director of events and engagement at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), where she leads the university’s event strategy to showcase its faculty, students, alumni, research, and achievements.

📝With more than 25 years of experience in the hospitality and events industry, Coleen has held leadership roles with the University of Delaware, National Down Syndrome Congress, Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau (Discover Philadelphia), and the Philadelphia Sports Congress. She has also been deeply involved in nonprofit leadership, serving as a trustee for the Delaware Foundation for Reaching Citizens with Disabilities (DFRC Blue-Gold), and multiple board positions for the DSADE. She chaired the DSADE’s Buddy Walk committee, raising over $1 million under her leadership.

🎓 Coleen earned her bachelor’s degree from Temple University and a master’s degree in hospitality and business management from the University of Delaware.

🏠 She lives in Wilmington, Delaware with her husband, Chris, and their three children—Brendan, who has Down syndrome, Mackenzie, and Cody.

Join us in extending a warm welcome to Coleen!
