We got some new wheels 🚙 Thank you so much to Aire Serv of Newark De, Spray Less Wraps and Graphics, Four Acres Trailer Sales, and the Emerick Family for helping us get our trailer into motion. The DSADE doesn’t exactly pack lightly for Days of Summer Camp, the DE Down Syndrome Walk & 5K, and our other large events that take place across the state, so this trailer will help us make sure we get where we need to go and spread awareness on the way there!

We’ll miss you, Jess! After nearly two years as our Community Liaison, we’re wishing Jess the best of luck on her next chapter as today is her last day in this role with us 💙

Jess joined our team full-time in May of 2024, but her connection to the DSA of DE began a decade earlier. Jess was a camp counselor at our Days of Summer Camp starting in 2014, and through the years, she volunteered at camp and various DSADE events.

Jess has helped expand our camp programs into five weeks, has facilitated hundreds of gifts reaching families in need during the holidays, and managed the thousands of Rock Your Socks that we distribute to communities across the state and country. These are no easy feats, and Jess’s attention to detail and commitment to serving others has made these programs a success.

Jess has been a key player when it comes to expanding our presence into Sussex County—she managed our Milton Office and many of our events and programs in the area. She has also deepened our connection to our volunteers, creating new systems for volunteer management and making volunteers feel welcome as their point-of-contact at many DSADE events.

Jess’s dedication, compassion, organization, and leadership at the DSADE will be very missed—we’re so grateful for everything she has put into our organization. While we’re sad to see Jess go, we’re excited for her next chapter as a Neurodiagnostic Technologist.

Please join us in helping say thank you to Jess in the comments! This is more of a “see you later” than “goodbye.” Jess won’t be a stranger—she plans to stay involved as a volunteer as she is able.

P.S. Jess will be helping us transition the new team member we have hired for this role in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for us to announce this new addition. We’re excited for you to meet her!

Pizza, water, and childcare will be provided.
