Sometimes anxiety doesn’t look like panic attacks.

Sometimes it looks like:
• Overthinking every conversation
• Feeling irritated or easily overwhelmed
• Having trouble relaxing even when you’re exhausted
• Constantly preparing for the “what if”
• Looking completely fine on the outside while struggling internally

High-functioning depression is real, even when someone appears “fine” on the outside. A person may still go to work, take care of family, meet deadlines, smile, and stay productive while privately struggling with emotional exhaustion, hopelessness, or numbness.

What it can look like:

Constantly feeling tired, even after resting
Losing interest in things once enjoyed
Overworking or staying busy to avoid emotions
Smiling publicly but feeling empty privately
Irritability, frustration, or emotional numbness
Difficulty concentrating or making decisions
Withdrawing emotionally from others
Changes in sleep or appetite
Feeling like you’re “just getting through the day”
Being highly dependable for everyone else while neglecting yourself

Many people dismiss their symptoms because they’re still functioning, but emotional pain does not have to be visible to be valid. Reaching out for support is a sign of strength, not weakness.

So many people are silently struggling while trying to convince themselves they’re “just tired” or that they should be able to handle it alone.

You are not weak for struggling. You are human.

Your mind and body will always try to tell you when something needs attention.
Mental health matters just as much as physical health.

If you are someone you know is struggling feel free to reach out to us we are here to help.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month

And if we are being honest… mental health isn’t something we should only talk about once a year.

It shows up in the quiet moments.
In the overwhelm.
In the “I’m fine” when you’re really not.

This month, we want to create a space where we can be real no pressure, no judgment.

A space to learn
A space to feel seen
A space to grow

Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, or just trying to hold it all together… you are not alone.

As therapists, we see the strength it takes just to keep going some days. And that matters.

If this is something you need, I invite you to follow along.
If you know someone who might need it, share this with them.

Let’s make mental health something we talk about every day not just when things fall apart.

Do not miss out on the chance to see this amazing performance. Pay what you can today.

Some stories don’t just entertain… they remind us we’re not alone.

Intuitive Healing Therapy is deeply honored to partner with Midland Community Theater as they bring Dear Evan Hansen to the Permian Basin, a story that speaks to the silent battles so many carry.

This production holds space for the ones who feel unseen, unheard, and disconnected… and gently reminds them: You Will Be Found.

We are incredibly proud to support this powerful cast and a message that matters now more than ever.

If you’ve ever struggled, if you’ve ever questioned your place, if you’ve ever felt alone this is for you. 💙

Don’t miss it.

Dear Evan Hansen opens Friday, April 24th at 7:30 PM.

Weight cycling can account for all the the excess mortality and morbidity we associate with 'ob*sity'. We've got studies that prove this. Stable weight (regardless of how 'high' it is) is safer than fluctuating weight. Weight cycling disrupts your metabolism, dysregulates your hormones, and causes chronic inflammation.

Why on earth are doctors recommending something that actively causes harm?

📖Learn all about weight cycling in chapter five of my upcoming book. I'll be reading it out loud this coming Monday in Book Club followed by a Q&A, which is exclusive to members of my online community The Weighting Room. Get exclusive access before the book is even released.

Help Us Celebrate Sindy!

We are sending the biggest (belated) birthday wishes to our incredible therapist, Sindy!

Sindy is a kind, loving, and deeply caring individual who has a true gift for helping others feel safe and comfortable in the therapy process. From the very first session, she works intentionally to create a space where clients feel heard, supported, and understood.

She is EMDR-trained and passionate about helping clients process and heal from trauma in meaningful ways. Sindy has even taken clients into the healing space of Equine Therapy, meeting them where they are and thinking outside the box to ensure they are getting the most out of their therapeutic journey.

She goes above and beyond for her clients, always advocating for their growth, healing, and overall wellbeing. Her dedication, compassion, and heart for this work make her not only an amazing therapist, but also an incredible coworker here at Intuitive Healing Therapy.

We are so grateful to have her on our team.

Please join us in wishing Sindy a very happy birthday and a year filled with joy, growth, and continued impact!
