Have you been thinking about talking with a mental health professional? Choosing to reach out for support is a real sign of strength.

A mental health professional can offer compassionate support and practical tools to help you feel better and grow stronger over time. You deserve that kind of care — and you do not have to navigate this alone.

If you'd like to start the new year by taking this step, we're here to help. Visit afsp.org/findaprofessional for more info.

💙 New Year, New Awareness 💙

As we step into January, it’s a powerful time to check in on how you’re really feeling after birth.
Not every postpartum mood change is the same, and knowing the difference can help you get the right support:

🔹 Baby Blues: Temporary mood swings, tearfulness, irritability; usually resolve within 2 weeks
🔹 Postpartum Depression (PPD): Persistent sadness, low energy, hopelessness, loss of interest; may last months without treatment
🔹 Postpartum Anxiety (PPA): Excessive worry, racing thoughts, panic; can interfere with daily life

✨ Early recognition leads to earlier support and recovery.

And remember, perinatal mental health conditions can also include OCD, Bipolar Mood Disorders, PTSD, and Psychosis.

💙 You are not alone, and help is available.

If you need support now:
🔷 Call or text the Postpartum Support International HelpLine at 800-944-4773 (no diagnosis needed)
🔷 Call or text the National Maternal Mental Health Hotline at 1-833-852-6262
🔷 In a crisis, call or text 988
🔷 Download the Connect by PSI app
🔷 Visit Postpartum.net for programs and resources

✨ A new year can be the beginning of feeling better.

The New Year might just feel like the right time to prioritize self-care. Self-care can seem unattainable but it starts with prioritizing yourself. It can begin by learning that reaching out for help can be as small as trying something new where you process and learn tools to be just who you’ve always been strong enough to be. Here at Rain River, we want to walk alongside our clients towards self-exploration and healing. Our team has openings if you or someone you know are interested in starting therapy.

We want to bring awareness and support for those who may know or even be unaware of Seasonal Affective Disorder.

According to National Institute of Mental Health NIMH, “In a given year, about 5 percent of the U.S. population experiences seasonal depression.
4 out of 5 people who have seasonal depression are women.
The main age of onset of seasonal depression is between 20 and 30 years of age, however symptoms can appear earlier.”

If this resonates with you, we encourage you to please reach out to seek support. You’re not in this alone.
