Stability starts at the hips👇

Exercise of the Week: Clamshell

The clamshell teaches your hips how to stabilize, which plays a huge role in how your entire body moves and feels.

Your hips help control your knees, support your low back, and keep you balanced when you walk, climb stairs, stand, or shift direction. When those muscles aren’t doing their job well, other areas often have to compensate.

That’s when discomfort, instability, or frustration can start to show up.

The clamshell helps rebuild that support in a simple, approachable way.

Over time, this can help you:
• Improve hip stability
• Support your knees and low back
• Move with more balance and control
• Build a stronger, more reliable foundation

It may look small, but exercises like this teach your body how to support you properly.

And those are the skills that make movement feel easier, not just in workouts, but in everyday life.

No judgment, just curious 👇
Too extreme?
Too confusing?
Too much pressure?
Not enough support?

A lot of people assume they just “weren’t disciplined enough.” But most of the time, it wasn’t you it was the approach.

No judgment here. Truly.

We’re curious because your experience matters. And when we understand what didn’t work before, we can help you build something that does.

If you feel comfortable, share below. You might be surprised how many people relate. 💜

If you feel stuck with your nutrition… restriction might be the reason.

Eating less. Cutting more. “Being good” all week.
That cycle usually isn’t helping your goals it’s keeping you away from them.

Sustainable progress doesn’t come from punishment.
It comes from fueling your body well, consistently, and learning what works for you.

More restriction isn’t the answer.
Better strategy is.

Alongside TTC, I’m also the Head Cross Country Coach at a local middle school and the Head Track Coach at a local high school.
Coaching young athletes has shaped the way I see progress.
With middle schoolers, you learn quickly that confidence matters just as much as conditioning.
With high school athletes, you see how powerful consistency, patience, and belief can be over time.

It’s never just about running faster.
It’s about learning how to pace yourself.
How to handle hard days.
How to trust the process.
How to grow.

That mindset doesn’t change just because we’re adults.
Whether I’m coaching students on a track or adults in a class, the approach is the same:

Teach the skill.
Build the foundation.
Support the person.

Because good coaching isn’t about intensity.
It’s about helping people develop something they can carry with them for life. 💜

Control is what makes movement feel safe👇

Exercise of the Week: Bolster Leg Drop

This exercise teaches your body how to control movement through your core and hips, especially when one leg moves and the rest of your body stays stable.

That might sound simple, but it’s something we use constantly.

Every time you walk, climb stairs, get in and out of a car, or shift your weight, your body has to stabilize while something else moves. When that control isn’t there, your low back, hips, or knees often take on extra stress.

The bolster leg drop helps retrain that stability in a gentle, supported way.

Over time, this can help you:
• Improve core stability
• Reduce unnecessary strain on your low back
• Move with more balance and coordination
• Feel more in control of your body

This isn’t about intensity.
It’s about building awareness and control that carries into everyday life.

These are the kinds of skills that make movement feel easier, safer, and more sustainable long-term.

it doesn't have to be impressive...
Maybe it’s a full workout.
Maybe it’s a walk.
Maybe it’s mobility work on your living room floor.
Maybe it’s simply showing up, even if your energy feels low.

Taking care of yourself doesn’t have to be extreme to count.

It doesn’t have to be aesthetic.
It doesn’t have to be intense.
And it definitely doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s version.

It just has to be honest.

At TTC, we focus on helping you build skills you can return to in busy seasons, stressful weeks, and everything in between.

That’s what sustainability looks like.
Not impressive.
Just consistent and real. 💜

02/23/2026

There’s something powerful about learning how to move and doing it alongside people who are figuring it out too.

This isn’t about pace.
It’s not about perfection.
And it’s definitely not about being the most athletic person in the room.

It’s about building skills.
It’s about confidence growing over time.
It’s about showing up and realizing you’re more capable than you thought.

Moments like this are why we do what we do.

Not extreme plans.
Not quick fixes.
Just steady progress, real support, and skills that last.

If you’ve ever thought, “I’m not athletic” or “I’m not that person,” you might be closer than you think.

We’ll meet you where you are. 💜

Most people don't realize how much their hips affect EVERYTHING👇

Exercise of the Week: 90/90 Mobility with Hip Lift

Your hips play a role in more than just workouts.
They help you walk, sit comfortably, stand up, balance, and move without strain.

But when hips get stiff, which happens naturally from sitting, driving, and daily routines, your body starts to compensate. Often in the low back, knees, or shoulders.

This exercise helps restore something many people have quietly lost: the ability to move your hips with control.

The goal isn’t to force flexibility.
It’s to gently teach your body how to access positions it was designed to use.

Over time, this can help you:
• Move more comfortably
• Reduce unnecessary strain on your back and knees
• Improve balance and coordination
• Feel more confident in everyday movement

This is what we mean when we talk about building skills to last a lifetime.

Not intense. Not overwhelming.
Just helping your body move the way it’s meant to.

If you’ve ever felt stiff, tight, or unsure how to improve your mobility, this is a great place to start.
