Hand Washing Awareness Month

Cold and flu season is upon us, so washing our hands properly is more important than ever! Follow the steps below, provided by the CDC, to make sure you are staying as healthy as possible this holiday season:
1. Wet your hands with clean, running water, turn off the tap, and apply soap.
2. Lather your hands with the soap. Be sure to get the backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails.
3. Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds.
4. Rinse your hands well under clean, running water.
5. Dry your hands using a clean towel or air dry them.

TMJ & Mouth Cancer Awareness Month

Here are a few vital things to know when it comes to TMJ and Mouth Cancer. TMJ (a.k.a: temporomandibular joint), works as a hinge between your jaw and the rest of your skull. Unfortunately, disorders can lead to pain in your jaw joint and surrounding muscles. If you feel regular pain in your jaw, have difficulty chewing, or even locking of the joint, let us know as soon as possible.

Avoiding to***co products or drinking in excess, as well as a healthy diet can all aid in prevention of mouth cancer. When you come in for an appointment, we check for any abnormalities to help detect things early.

If you're experiencing oral discomfort or pain of any kind, come on in so we can be a safe set of eyes to get you to a healthier you.

Celebrate DENTAL HYGIENE MONTH with these quick oral hygiene tips:

We want your oral health to always be in great shape. Here are a few tips from the Mayo Clinic to study and implement into your daily hygiene routine!

-Brush your teeth at least twice a day for two minutes each time.
-Use a soft-bristled brush and fluoride toothpaste.
-Floss daily.
-Use mouthwash to remove food particles left after brushing and flossing.
-Eat a healthy diet and limit sugary food and drinks.
-Replace your toothbrush every three to four months, or sooner if bristles are splayed or worn.
-Avoid to***co use.
-Schedule regular dental checkups and cleanings.
