It’s not always about just “doing more kegels”.
Sometimes it’s your core. Sometimes it’s your hips. Sometimes it’s your back.
I recently treated someone who had daily, severe leakage for 30 YEARS, and never once was she sent to pelvic floor PT.
I treated her for 8 sessions. She walked away with NO LEAKING. But guess what we worked on: her core! When the pelvic floor and core aren’t coordinated correctly, they work against each other. After just a few weeks of getting her core on board, she was able to stop wearing pads everyday.

I’m telling you now: You don’t have to just do more kegels to cure your leaking. Come see a women’s health PT who can evaluate your whole system and get relief.

This.
The pelvic floor can refer pain into the belly mimicking UTI and gut issues.
Burning with urination? Yup, your pelvic floor can be the cause.
Constipation? Yup: if the pelvic floor can’t relax, how is anything going to get out?

If you’ve been struggling with chronic UTIs, “gut” issues that aren’t improving despite cutting everything out, or constipation (even since childhood), but the typical treatments aren’t making a difference, your pelvic floor could be to blame. At Firm Foundation PT I can see you for 3 weeks without a prescription and have openings available this week. Don’t hesitate to make the appointment.

Kegels are not the only thing we can use to treat pelvic floor problems. The pelvic floor doesn’t function separately from the rest of the body, so if something is off in the low back or hips, the pelvic floor can also be significantly impacted. As a skilled orthopedic and women’s health physical therapist, I have the knowledge to look at and treat your body as a whole. Kegels can actually make some pelvic floor symptoms worse.

So if you’re looking for someone who understands how to look at the whole body INCLUDING the pelvic floor, give me a call, or schedule a session online.

I treat pregnant patients often. I know it helps them feel better. But I was shocked when I got to experience this first hand.

Having someone to look at how you’re moving and do the hands on work that you can’t do for yourself: it makes such a difference! I was able to stay so much more comfortable and active while pregnant with my second it was incredible.

Having just finished my Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist training I feel particularly eager to jump in and help women feel better while they’re pregnant.

Schedule an appointment today to experience the difference for yourself.

Grove Tea Lounge has been a very special place for me personally over the last two+ years. It is the space where I was able to think, pray, and plan as I worked out the details of opening my own practice. Many days were spent quietly in my favorite, sunny corner, dreaming of what I wanted my patient’s experience to be and what values I wanted my practice to stand for.

Thank you for creating a welcoming, comfortable environment for creation and focus. I look forward to seeing what is to come for this space as Live Oak Coffeehouse moves in. Thank you Grove!

This Saturday!! Grab a pregnant friend and join me for an hour and a half Saturday. We’re going to spend time chatting about how to move to protect your pelvic floor and core postpartum, as well as cover some exercises to help you recover and feel better postpartum.

It’s not about how to bounce back faster, but how to help you move and feel better, while also laying the building blocks for activity later on.

For anyone who attended the last Doxa Development dinner and heard me share about the class that I was working on offering in the community: here it is! My hope is to offer education to empower women through their pregnancy and postpartum journey. This class is a step toward that larger goal. Participants will be learning about how to protect their healing body with good body mechanics, as well as how to begin moving toward healthy levels of activity safely. We will have time for lecture and practicing our basic exercises as well. Contact me if you have any questions.

One week left to sign up for my new class “The First Six Weeks”! The first class went so well. The women enjoyed the setup/time frame, and the interactive exercise practice included during our time. We had a first time mom and a third time mom who both said they found the information helpful and relevant.

Moms of Midland, my name is Kristie Mulder. I’m a physical therapist specializing in women’s health and I recently finished the coursework to become a Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist. I am the only PT in Midland with this specialized certification and let me tell you: I learned SO MUCH!

This course really expanded my understanding of the changes our body goes through while pregnant and postpartum and gave me a ton of tools to help address the problems that come from those changes. If you are looking for a PT who thoroughly understands where you are at and what your body needs, give me a call. 989-402-2667 or join my postpartum education class for pregnant moms titled “The First Six Weeks” to get a front row seat to some awesome information I’ve been learning.
