Cash-based doesn’t mean you have to use physical cash. You can actually use your HSA or FSA card if you wanted; or any other form of payment. What it is really referring to is the fact that you pay for the service up front instead of it going through your insurance first. Of course, you are welcome to submit the information to your insurance after the appointment and you are likely to be able to receive some reimbursement back.

Women’s Health: We deal with the pelvic floor (and the rest of the body of course!) Yes, this means I work a lot with women during pregnancy and postpartum, but they aren’t the only women who need pelvic floor PT. Women who haven’t had babies often experience painful in*******se, leaking, and pelvic pain as well. So many of these symptoms get written off as “normal”. They may be common, but they don’t have to be the norm.

This is something I love about being out on my own with a quieter schedule than I used to have. I can get patients in much more quickly than I used to be able to. That means you can call me, and I’ll get you in and feeling better much sooner than if you had to wait to see the doctor, then get on a PTs schedule.

Fun fact: This is a large part of the reason our profession moved toward a doctoral degree. There were some concerns that PTs wouldn’t be able to tell whether a patient was appropriate for PT, or needed to see a physician first. So they added courses teaching us how to determine if a patient’s complaint was appropriate for PT, or if we needed to refer them to the doctor.

Have you heard of Allied Group Fitness? They are this awesome fitness studio offering a super fun variety of exercise classes in the most welcoming and body positive atmosphere I’ve ever seen. They have a beautiful studio, and they share it with me! During the day, when there aren’t any classes going on, I get to transform the studio into a PT practice. That means we have an awesome, private space for your treatment sessions without the distractions or concerns that go along with busy PT clinics.

If you’ve never taken a class, you definitely should! Be watching their facebook group too because they often offer classes Downtown Midland, Michigan once the plaza is open.

If you’ve been to PT, you were probably told you needed to be seen 3x/week. Sometimes we do need to see patients that frequently for lots of reasons, BUT I average 1 visit per week with my patients because of the time and attention I am able to give them. Hour long sessions, without interruptions, give us the time to find the most effective exercises for you and make sure you are confident doing them at home.

Fewer appointments to make.
Fewer appointments to pay for.
Average of 6 sessions to feel better.

Face to face time with a consistent provider makes a difference. Schedule today: firmfoundationpt.janeapp.com

Someone asked me this question this week. With that exact wording. Oh, it made me so sad. I imagine that was someone’s experience for this person to have heard “horrific” attached to women’s health.

I hope no one ever walks out of a session with me and describes it as embarrassing, or awkward, let along horrific. I work hard to treat everyone with respect, to give as much privacy and modesty as possible, and to have every patient leave their session feeling empowered. Have more questions about what women’s health sessions look like? Give me a call and let’s chat about it. (989) 402-2667.

Having a full hour, face-to-face with a Doctor of Physical Therapy means you get the most out of your PT session. There is time to talk about your concerns, do whatever exam is needed (even if it’s not your first session), and then move right into treatment. Because it is YOUR session, we can spend as much or as little time as you want on each portion of the appointment. I set up Firm Foundation PT with intentionality to allow us to get you the most out of every session.
