Midland Children's Rehabilitation Center Midland Children's Rehabilitation Center (MCRC) has been providing pediatric occupational, physical and speech therapy since 1956.

Founded in 1956 by the Children's Service League, MCRC is changing the lives of children by providing neurological, orthopedic, and developmental therapy, in a compassionate environment, regardless of a family's ability to pay. We treat children from infant to age 22 with developmental, orthopedic and neurologic limitations. Our vision is to provide these services at little or no cost to the famil

ies. To date, the center has never charged for services and relies on the generosity of the community to be able to do so. Services currently offered:
Occupational Therapy
Physical Therapy
Speech Therapy
Aquatics
Hippotherapy
West Texas Dyslexia Center

We also offer several enrichment programs:
Open Gym
Unlimited Dance Company
We are The World Camp

Sweet, silly, playful, and resilient—Piper is all that and more! Born at just 25 weeks and weighing 1 lb., 3 oz., she spent 5 months in the NICU and was later diagnosed with PVL and visual impairment. But nothing holds this little miracle back! Since starting at MCRC at 18 months old, Piper has made incredible progress through a full range of therapies: physical, occupational, speech, feeding, and equine. From sitting independently and crawling, to using sign language and feeding herself—her growth is inspiring!🤩

It has been an exciting spring for Grant! 🎓🐴On April 16, he graduated from our Therapeutic Riding program after 3½ incredible years—and a few months later, he got to kick off the Midland RockHounds game during MCRC’s 2nd Annual Night at the Ballpark by announcing “Play ball!”⚾️🧢

During his time at MCRC, Grant brought joy to every session. The horses became a powerful motivator as he worked on goals like improving focus, following multi-step directions, and communicating clearly with his horse. Grant has always had a beautifully loving and caring way of treating the horses he rides —sometimes enjoying grooming the horses just as much as riding! We are so proud of all that Grant has achieved and know he’ll carry this confidence and compassion into whatever comes next.💙💚

Our 2nd Annual MCRC Night at the Rockhounds got rained out—but we’re not complaining! Rain in West Texas is always a gift, and we’re grateful for every drop! 🌧️ Over 600 MCRC families and staff members braved the weather to cheer on our Midland Rockhounds and enjoy an evening of community and America’s favorite pastime. ⚾️ Two special highlights of the evening: Rhett kicked things off by throwing the first pitch, and Grant got the crowd going with a loud and proud “Play Ball!”🧢🎉We’re so grateful to our MVP sponsors — LandBridge, WaterBridge, and an anonymous donor — for stepping up to the plate and making this event possible. We are also appreciative of the Midland Rockhounds for hosting such a meaningful event and so thoughtfully accommodating all of our guests. 💙🧡

🎉 Student Spotlight: Liam 🎉
Liam graduated from our Therapeutic Riding program last month after two amazing years of growth at MCRC! From day one, Liam has shown incredible empathy for the horses he worked with—always mindful of their comfort and feelings. His therapy goals focused on expressing his thoughts and emotions in healthy ways, and being around our horses gave him the perfect space to practice that.

Through his time in the arena, Liam learned to process emotions thoughtfully, which helped strengthen his relationships—with people and horses. 🐴 💬 Another big goal for Liam was improving postural control and physical strength. Thanks to his hard work and dedication, he made huge strides in both areas.
We’re so proud of Liam and all he’s accomplished! 💙
