Care from the heart to meet the unique needs of patients and families. Hospice of Midland has provided compassionate care to thousands of patients and families.
The vision of a few members of this community met with a tremendous amount of hard work, cooperation, and love for one’s fellow man. Our continuing commitment is to build on the needs of our patients with a life-limiting illness. Hospice of Midland provides a true community of care for patients and their families as the only non-profit community-owned hospice in the Permian Basin. Hospice of Midland's care follows the patient in the home, hospital, nursing home, assisted living facility or anywhere the patient calls home with patient services available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. When medicine cannot provide a cure, Hospice of Midland can diminish suffering and offer care and assistance that helps maintain a better quality of life for the patient. Our services involve treatment of physical and emotional pain and symptoms focusing on improving the patient’s comfort and quality of life. Our philosophy is that as life nears its end, every individual has the right to spend his or her remaining days in peace and with dignity. We focus specifically on comfort, dignity and pain control as we respond to the symptoms, needs and goals of the patients and their families. Hospice of Midland is accredited by CHAP (Community Health Accreditation Program) and is a member of NHPCO (National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization), TNMHO (Texas & New Mexico Hospice Organization) and the Texas Non-Profit Hospice Alliance.

As we welcome a new year, we pause to honor the moments that shaped us, the families who trusted us, and the lives whose stories continue to inspire our work.
At Hospice of Midland, we are reminded every day that time is precious—not because it is fleeting, but because it is shared. In 2025, may we all slow down, hold each other closer, and choose compassion in the spaces where it matters most.
Here’s to a year of presence, purpose, and gentle hope. 💛

There’s something incredibly comforting about curling up with a soft, handmade blanket — and thanks to the talented hearts at First Methodist Needle Works, that comfort is reaching Hospice of Midland patients every day.
These beautiful blankets aren’t just stitches and yarn. They’re love, time, and compassion woven together by people who care deeply about bringing warmth to others. Each one is a reminder that kindness can be felt, held, and wrapped around someone who needs it most.
Thank you, Needle Works team, for sharing your gifts and touching lives in the most meaningful way.

Grief Support That Continues Beyond Hospice Care
Grief does not end when hospice care ends—and neither does our support. Hospice of Midland offers grief and bereavement services to families for up to 12 months after the loss of a loved one, including:
Grief education and support groups
Individual outreach and follow-up
Community grief classes and workshops
Specialized grief support through programs like Rays of Hope Children’s Grief Centre
Our goal is to help individuals and families process loss, find healthy coping tools, and feel supported throughout their grief journey.
Care From the Heart—For the Whole Person
At Hospice of Midland, spiritual care is about honoring each person’s story, values, and beliefs. Through compassionate chaplains, devoted volunteers, and comprehensive grief support, we care for the whole person—mind, body, and spirit.
If you or someone you love could benefit from hospice care, spiritual support, or grief services, we are here for you.
At Hospice of Midland, care truly comes from the heart. Our compassionate nurses, chaplains, social workers, hospice aides, and volunteers walk alongside patients and families every step of the journey—offering comfort, dignity, and support when it matters most.
As the first and only nonprofit hospice in the Permian Basin, we are proud to serve our community with a team that treats every patient like family.
Proud of Our Volunteers—On the Ground and in the Air
Volunteer John Carnett and his four-legged partner, Louie, are part of our Hospice Hounds program at Hospice of Midland—but their compassion doesn’t stop there. They also volunteer with Angel Flight, offering comfort and companionship to patients traveling for medical treatment.
Twice a week, Louie can be found right by a patient’s side, providing calm, reassurance, and a gentle presence during what can be a difficult journey.
We are incredibly proud of John and Louie for the many ways they serve—but most of all, our hearts are with the patients who are courageously undergoing treatment. Your strength inspires us every day.
Thank you, John and Louie, for showing what true compassion looks like in action.

Team Member Spotlight: Meet Lindsey — pictured here with Jerry, one of our wonderful Chaplains — a volunteer who has been part of the Hospice of Midland family since 2018.
Lindsey lends her talents to our Medical Records department, where her sharp mind, quick wit, and attention to detail keep us running smoothly. She works three days a week, and every one of those days feels brighter because she’s here.
Not only is Lindsey super smart and excellent at what she does, she brings laughter, kindness, and consistency to our team. She loves her family, enjoys good music, and never passes up the chance to cheer at a baseball game.
We’re so grateful for her dedication and the joy she brings to our organization. Thank you, Lindsey, for helping keep us on track and for being such an important part of our Hospice of Midland family!
