Thank you to the Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce for the opportunity to have our Executive Director, Kelsey Snyder, speak on the Dos and Don’ts of Networking.

We loved the energy in the room and the real conversations that came out of it. Networking doesn’t have to feel forced or awkward, it’s about showing up, listening, and building genuine connections that last.

Grateful to be part of a community that values growth, collaboration, and learning from each other. Looking forward to continuing the conversation.

Goals don’t have to be big or perfect to count.

SMART goals are just a way to make things feel less overwhelming:

• Specific – clear and simple
• Measurable – you’ll know when it’s done
• Achievable – realistic for your life
• Relevant – it actually matters to you
• Time-based – not “someday,” but a timeframe

Start small. One clear goal is better than ten you never touch.

Most of us don’t realize how often our mindset is shaping what we believe is possible.

A fixed mindset says:
“I’m just not good at this.”
“This is too hard.”
“I’ll probably fail anyway.”

A growth mindset sounds like:
“I’m not there yet.”
“What can I learn from this?”
“Let me try again a different way.”

The difference isn’t talent.
It’s how you respond when things get uncomfortable.

We see this every day with the youth we work with, especially those who haven’t always had consistent support. When they start to shift from “I can’t” to “I can learn,” everything begins to change. Confidence grows. Effort increases. Possibilities open up.

You don’t have to have it all figured out.
You just have to be willing to try, learn, and keep going.

What’s one thing you’ve been telling yourself you “can’t” do… that might just need a “not yet”?

25 young adults now have more than just a laptop, they have a path forward.

A huge thank you to amazing partners who made this possible: Nexteer Automotive for donating the laptops and to NetSource One and Freeland Fabricators for installing Windows 11, and refurbishing each one with care.

These laptops are going to young people through the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, helping them access Lead Within to build confidence, career readiness, and real-life skills for what comes next.

Because when young people are given the right tools, everything starts to change.

Sometimes people don’t need answers. They just need someone to show up.

These are three simple H’s that can make a big difference.

- Heard: They just need someone to listen
- Helped: They want advice or ideas
- Hugged: They want comfort and support, not answers

When we listen without trying to fix things, it helps people feel safe and understood.

A big thank you to Courtney Garrett and the Entrepreneur Like ME podcast for having on Executive Director, Kelsey Snyder to share more about the direction Lead is heading and the statewide impact we’re experiencing.

It was a meaningful conversation about addressing a service gap, growing with sustainability in mind, and what it looks like to build systems that allow us to support more youth and families across Michigan.

We’re grateful for platforms that highlight community-driven work and the ripple effect it can create and CMURC for helping to make it all happen.

Tune in to hear what’s next for Lead and how our impact continues to expand across the state.

Lead was proud to attend Nonprofit Day at the Capitol on Tuesday, a powerful day of learning, advocacy, and connection.

Thank you to the Michigan Nonprofit Association for coordinating such an impactful event and creating space for nonprofits across the state to engage directly with policymakers.

We’re also grateful to Board Member, Josh Faulk for attending alongside our Executive Director, Kelsey Snyder. Together, they met with Representatives from our surrounding counties to share more about Lead’s statewide work building confidence, resilience, and career readiness in youth.

Advocacy matters. When we elevate the voices of the communities we serve, we help shape stronger outcomes for Michigan’s future.

Thankful Thursday - We’re kicking off our first round of sponsor shoutouts today.

Your support directly fuels the work happening in classrooms, community spaces, and public systems across our region. Because of you, students are gaining tools to manage stress, challenge self-doubt, and set meaningful goals.

Swipe to read a handwritten note from one of our students. This is the impact behind your investment.

More gratitude coming in the weeks ahead, but today, we’re celebrating you.
