💚Ubuntu recently met with Dorcas Consolation Family, a powerful women-led organization dedicated to empowering survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.

💚Together, we explored meaningful ways to continue spreading mental health awareness within this community—centering education on trauma and the profound impact it has on both the mind and body.

💚This work is about healing, dignity, and ensuring survivors have the knowledge and support they deserve as they move forward. We’re honored to be part of a movement that puts trauma-informed care and mental wellness at the forefront.

We’re home 💚

Our hearts are full as we return to the States from Rwanda after Ubuntu Wellness’s very first service trip. What an incredible, humbling, and inspiring journey it has been. We had the honor of serving alongside amazing organizations, meeting beautiful communities, and witnessing powerful moments of healing, resilience, and hope.

This trip was only the beginning.

In the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing more about:
✨ The incredible organizations we partnered with
✨ The impact we witnessed together
✨ Ways YOU can partner with Ubuntu to help continue this work
✨ Upcoming events, initiatives, and future service trips

There is so much more ahead, and we are so excited to bring you along with us. Thank you for walking this journey with Ubuntu Wellness and for believing in healing, community, and hope.

Stay connected. Stay inspired. Stay with us.

Ubuntu found its recharge by Lake Kivu 💦

Grounding ourselves in nature, sharing genuine laughs, and dreaming forward—about how we keep showing up, spreading mental health awareness, and creating spaces for healing. This is community. This is Ubuntu.💚🇷🇼

This week, Ubuntu Wellness had the honor of working alongside BPO, and we are deeply grateful for the warm welcome we received during both days spent with their incredible team.

Ubuntu Wellness facilitated a volunteer training for BPO focused on emotional regulation and building greater emotional awareness.

This work sparked a powerful initiative aimed at bringing mental health support into schools across Rwanda—led by youth leaders and rooted in community.

By instilling mental health education within young generations and working together as one, we believe we can begin to undo trauma, normalize emotions, strengthen unity, and heal collectively.

Thank you, BPO, for your collaboration, openness, and shared vision. Together, we move forward 🤍✨

Ubuntu Meeting | Hope of Family 🤍

Yesterday we laughed, learned, and came together in community for a powerful training on emotional awareness and regulation. By learning to better understand and care for ourselves, we strengthen our ability to heal and support those around us.

Thank you to Hope of Family for welcoming us so warmly, partnering with us, and continuing to champion mental health awareness. Together, we grow. Together, we heal. ✨

💚 We had the honor of meeting with Peace Education Initiative Rwanda at the Kigali Genocide Memorial on Monday, followed by a tour of PeaceEdu’s facility and Reconciliation Village, an experience that will stay with us forever. Words cannot truly express how we felt after this visit.

PeaceEdu’s president and founder, Albert, is a survivor of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. His life’s mission is rooted in forgiveness, healing, and the restoration of community between Genocide survivors and perpetrators. Albert’s story is beyond touching it is a powerful reminder that healing ourselves often begins with helping heal others.

PeaceEdu provides critical support to Genocide survivors who are working to rebuild their lives, whether through medical care, poverty relief, shelter, or meeting basic human needs. The testimonies we listened to from both survivors and perpetrators of the Genocide, including Albert’s were deeply moving and truly life-changing.

Thank you, Albert, and thank you to all the beautiful souls we had the privilege to meet. Your strength, resilience, and compassion continue to inspire hope and healing far beyond words.

Ubuntu Wellness Meeting at Iwacu Recovery Center – Today 🤍

Today, Ubuntu had the honor of meeting with the incredible community at Iwacu Recovery Centre. The President and Founder of Ubuntu, Krista spoke on acceptance, personal value, and confidence, reminding clients that recovery begins with believing in their worth.

Iwacu Recovery Centre offers both inpatient and outpatient services, supporting not only the people of Rwanda but anyone willing to choose the path of recovery.

We were deeply moved by the powerful testimonies shared—stories that showed how substance use can impact lives and create a real need for mental health care.

Through the partnerships Ubuntu is building, we hope to spread mental health awareness, reduce shame and guilt, and stand together with those who are living—or have lived—through substance use challenges.

Recovery is possible. Healing is real. And no one has to walk the journey alone. ✨
