Are you getting your wisdom teeth out this month? Here’s what recovery usually looks like:
Recovery time after wisdom teeth removal varies from person to person, but most people start to feel better within 3 to 5 days. It typically takes about 1 to 2 weeks for the area to fully heal.

➡️ First 24 hours: Some bleeding, swelling, and mild discomfort are normal.
➡️ Days 2–3: Swelling and soreness may peak, then begin to subside.
➡️ Days 4–7: Most patients can return to normal activities with minor tenderness.
➡️ After 1–2 weeks: Healing is usually complete, though deeper sockets may continue to close over time.

Following your post-op instructions, such as using ice packs, avoiding straws, and eating soft foods, helps speed recovery and reduce the risk of complications.

It is common and inevitable that food and other debris will begin to accumulate in your extraction sites. This is even more common on the lower extraction sites. We provide a curved-tip irrigation syringe that you should begin using on • DAY 5 • after your surgery to aid in the removal of debris.
