Today is National Stillbirth Prevention Day

My Second Born Sarah Amelia West would've been 16 yrs old.

She is my WHY the reason why I continue to fight and advocate for change and more legislation to help mothers and their families help try to prevent this kind of trauma.

My doctor told me I was too young to have complications I didn't have anything to worry about. If I knew what I know now and had the tools back then and known to advocate more about my health Sarah would've had a chance of survival.

My Journey to becoming a midwife is starting now. I was accepted into Midwife Birth Assistant training with Black Sisters Birth Academy and other training needed to have the requirements to take the exam after I find a Midwife that will apprentice me so I can continue to do the work and create lasting change in our community. I'm so excited, the first few weeks of 2023 was busy I supported my first client of the year and 33rd client overall. I posted officially letting everyone know I'm a Medicaid Provider for the Commonwealth and today on MLK day, Latonya Deshelle Doula Services has invited to their First collaboration!!! They found me by word of mouth from my awesome supporters who are talking about me in their mommy spaces. I will announce the collaboration tomorrow. Today is a mental self care day and Im listening to my body. Thanks to all of my supporters near and far you are really awesome.

Announcement!!!!
In the past 2.5 years a lot has changed with LaTonya Deshelle,LLC but I'm proud to announce that as of July 2022 the business is now contracted with Richmond Birth and Baby to service the Richmond Area as a Birth and Postpartum Doula. I'm excited to embark on this journey with my new doula team and support new families. I also have more things to share that are in the works, but I will share them as they launch. I'm back!! And I have great news and updates to share. During the pandemic I was so hyperfocused on education and supporting my clients. And now I'm here to announce that I'm now the First State Certified Doula for the Commonwealth of VA!!! I'm now taking clients independently and as well thru Urban Baby Beginnings. I'm thankful for this journey and the 15 clients I have already served. We are just beginning 😌

My new All in one planner. For Business, home, social media and Journaling and selfcare/wellness. I Frankenplan 5 planners into one for my needs Im so excited to start planning for 2021 and want to start planning a month ahead. So I will go dark for the rest of the year. Rebrand is now official LaTonyaDeshelle.com launching in Jan 2021. As a Doula professional we are a walking representation of our brand so now my company name is my name because I represent me. I wanted something grown and simple and formal so when I network and have several products in the future I can house it all under my name. As we have 3 weeks left in 2020 Im reflecting on my first year as a doula and how The Divine Elephant LLC has been doing. I have accomplished so much this year. I have learned so much this year about business so there will be some changes coming to the business that needs to be done so my brand can be stronger and set intentions so I can drive deeper into this doula work and help more families. Its time to get quiet and still so I can create. So stay tuned some changes are drastic but I want to succeed long term so it has to be done. Question what are yall planning for your business in 2021? Im no longer winging this its time to expand.
