The “Seven Generations” teaching

At its core, the teaching says:

What we do today ripples forward and backward across seven generations.
Our actions, choices, wounds, and healing don’t stop with us.

This appears most clearly in Indigenous teachings, especially among the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois Confederacy), who taught that every decision should be made with the impact on the next seven generations in mind.

But versions of this show up everywhere.

Why seven?

Seven isn’t random.

Across cultures, seven represents a full cycle:
• 7 days in a week
• 7 chakras
• 7 stages of life
• 7-year biological cycles in the body
• 7 generations ≈ 140–175 years (long enough for patterns to fully embed or dissolve)

Seven is often seen as completion + continuity.

How it actually works

You’re likely seeing this play out in patterns, not just events.

What passes through generations:
• Trauma and unhealed grief
• Abandonment, betrayal, poverty consciousness
• Addiction, violence, emotional immaturity
• BUT also resilience, artistry, intuition, generosity, leadership

Modern science now backs this up through epigenetics:
• Trauma can change gene expression
• Those changes can be passed down
• Healing can also change what gets passed on

In shamanic teachings, it is known that what we do in this lifetime echoes through seven generations — the ancestors behind us and the descendants yet to come.

Our choices, wounds, healing, silence, courage, and truth all leave energetic footprints in the lineage. Trauma can be carried forward, but so can awareness. So can healing.

I have witnessed this many times: when one person becomes conscious, when one soul chooses to heal instead of repeat, the entire ancestral line shifts. The medicine moves both ways — honoring those who came before and protecting those who come after.

We are not here by accident. Some of us are born as cycle breakers, carriers of remembrance, called to restore harmony where it was once lost.

Healing is never just personal.
It is ancestral.
It is future-facing.
It is sacred work.

Austin got out of surgery around 3:30 and we were finally able to see him around 4:30.

We were warned of a possible (but not likely) situation that could happen during surgery and of course it happened. They punctured his brain wall which causes his brain fluid to leak and hopefully not but could have exposed his brain fluid to the infection. That means we are now on watch for meningitis. Which also means his recovery process is changing and will take longer to get him home.

The doctors have finally finished “checking him over after surgery” and say they will finally let him rest. He is extremely irritable. He hasn’t eaten more than a cup of Pringles and hasn’t slept more than 3 hours in the last 30 hours. He is fed up and I don’t blame him. Shawn has gone to the hotel to hopefully get some much needed and much deserved rest. I’m with him in the room and going to attempt to close my eyes as well.
To say we are emotionally exhausted is an understatement. Please pray for all of us. We are tired and scared

There are a lot of texts coming in and it’s hard to respond to everyone so here is the latest update:

It has been an extremely tough day on all of us. There are quite a few things we know should have been handled differently. I won’t go into detail right now but feel they ultimately cost him more pain and suffering than he should have. We knew he was getting worse but were told repeatedly they see this all the time, that it was under control and to give it more time. Well it wasn’t, and after demanding a second look and answers they did another CT scan which showed he now had an abscess behind and next to his eye. This is dangerous and now required immediate surgery from both the ENT department for his nasal passage and now Optho for his eye. He is currently in surgery and should be done around 2am. We are being told to expect him to be here for at least another 4 days. They will send off a culture after the procedure to give them the answers needed to tackle the infection with the correct antibiotics. Please continue praying as he will have a difficult next few days of recovery and healing while still continuing to fight this nasty infection❤️

Update
It looks like it’s spreading, he’s about to get another scan to determine the urgency of surgery

They found the bug inn his blood stream !!! Now they will use another antibiotic while the lab figures out how to kill just that bug and give a plan. Surgey is off if I dont here anything until 4 ..... so great news now they can work to treat it ...its in the strep family of bugs but had nothing to do with strep

Here’s an update to Shawn’s previous post from Sunday-

The antibiotics have the infection under control from spreading but his swelling isn’t going down. They said it could take 24-48 hours before it did. We are at 55 now and still no improvement. The pain was under control yesterday but escalated last night and is now requiring more than advil/tylenol to keep him comfortable. So things are getting scary again. All his doctors and specialists are in a meeting now to come up with the next plan of action since what we had planned didn’t work. They stopped all food and water in preparation of possible surgery today-which I think is what we are hoping for at this point. He is getting irritable and extremely hungry so hoping we get some answers soon.
🙏

No update, no changes please keep up with your prayers and heaing.

My little guy is not any better.
Please send healing and prayers.

To my healing friends. Please hold a healing ceremony for my grandson Austin’s Waters he is in serious condition in UVA.
Thank you.

So wanted to give and update and let people know whats going on. Been up for 37 hours so best I can give right now

Austin was sick after new years with the flu . Once that was gone he has been dealing with some lingering cold like issues.
Friday he left school for eye pain and sat went to doctor they said pink eye.
Yesterday took him to the hospital in Midlothian and after no success with pain or finding the right antibiotics we found out he had a orbital infection that got bad real fast and aggressive .
They put us in a ambulance and sent us to UVA he has been through 4 antibiotics so far and a pile of other meds.
They are currently testing him to figure out which antibiotic would be most successful.
Kids taking a beating but fighting back! Tough as nails
A very crucial 24 hours ahead we hope they found or will find the right cocktail of antibiotics to fight this specific infection, so it doesn't spread any further.

I will update when we have more news.

A Winter Solstice Blessing

The winter solstice is a sacred time,
infused with quiet magic and returning light.
It is a moment when the universe, in its infinite kindness,
awakens our hearts to tender and brighter possibilities,
rekindling the light of hope within our souls
as a new cycle of light slowly begins.

In this holy pause between darkness and dawn,
we are invited to release,
to loosen our grip on old patterns, heavy sorrows,
and lingering wounds that we may continue to carry.
With open hands and gentle hearts,
we step forward,
cradling the promise of brighter, more hopeful beginnings.

May all who have known loss or disappointment
find comfort in this peaceful turning.
May the light, though small at first,
guide us faithfully through the darkest days,
reminding us that even the longest night
must yield to morning.

As we give thanks for all that has nourished us,
every lesson, every kindness, every tenderness
that shaped our year,
we honor the path that brought us here.
And in gratitude,
we begin again,
walking onward with renewed hope,
gentle anticipation,
and the quiet courage
to welcome the year ahead.
