Under the ownership Jenny Alsop, OD, with associate Emily Bennett, OD, we offer comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fittings, scleral lens fittings, dry eye treatment, and management of ocular diseases/emergencies. We offer comprehensive eye exams using the latest ophthalmic equipment, we provide customized contact lens fittings with the most current lens designs and materials, and we have a wide range of stylish frames for prescription glasses or non prescription wear. We accept most major medical insurance plans for medical needs, routine vision plans (VSP, EyeMed, Spectera, VBA) and also can accommodate those without coverages.

Midlothian Optometric will be DELAYING opening on Tuesday , January 27th, 2026 to 11:00 am due to the rare extreme cold temperatures and icy conditions.

Please stay safe and use extreme caution with the hard freeze and re-freeze of sidewalks and roads.

Our office parking lot has been cleared and treated, but slick spots may still be present.

If you need to reschedule this week, please call our office and we will assist. Please leave a message if a live person is unable to answer, we will get back to you.

If you are heading to the office, please call to make sure we are open.

We may vary our open on Wednesday as well, we hope to resume normal hours Thursday and beyond, weather permitting.

❄️ VARIED HOURS DUE TO WEATHER ❄️

Midlothian Optometric will be closing at 1:00pm on 12/8/25 due to the snowstorm.

We plan to OPEN LATE: 10:30am on 12/9/25. We will advise if this changes. Be careful if you have to be out, especially in the early mornings this week as more icy spots can happen with overnight freezing temps.

She is from rural western Virginia and has lived in the Richmond area for over 3 years. Dr. Bennett has a passion for full scope optometry including dry eye, soft contacts, eye emergencies and diseases, as well as taking the time to get your glasses prescription just right! We are having some issues with commercial power outages in the area of the office.

Without power, we are unable to operate and don’t have phone service to the office.

We apologize for any inconvenience, and will get back to you as soon as we can—we should be able to retrieve messages once we have power restored.
