At Richmond Massage Therapy, we are passionate about massage and provide only massage therapy, bodywork, and acupuncture services. We offer a wide variety of massage services and massage styles because we believe a therapist should be well versed in and able to incorporate a number of different modalities for promoting relaxation and healing and finding balance in your body. Because of our training, you are able to choose a specific type of bodywork, or you can simply trust in the expertise of your therapist to take care of your needs by utilizing their broad arsenal of skills and styles. Based on your specific needs and desires, together we design a session plan to achieve your desired outcome. We specialize in Therapeutic Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Oncology Massage, Swedish Massage, Integrative Reflexology, Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) for Lymphedema, Swelling Disorders and/or Detoxification, Aromatherapy, Hot Stone Massage, and Cupping Therapy Massage, to name a few. All of our massage therapists are certified by the Virginia Board of Nursing and most are Nationally Certified by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB).

We'd like to welcome Gigi Bowman to our team. We are blessed to have her here at Richmond Massage Therapy LLC.

From the start of her career, Gigi established a core foundation in the body: its functionality, along with principles of mind-body connection to promote healing. Gigi’s perspective of wellness shifted after years of chronic headaches and neck pain were alleviated through adding intentional body therapy to her life. After being introduced to a more holistic lifestyle working in a chiropractic environment in 2012, Gigi ventured to find a unique lane of her own to initiate healing in others.

She graduated in 2015 from the American Institute of Massage, Inc- remaining under the close tutelage of chiropractors for 5 years to strengthen her knowledge and foundation of the human body.

Clinical Interests/Advanced Trainings:

Gigi is certified through the Virginia Board of Nursing and is an active member of the American Massage Therapy Association since 2015. She uses integrative therapies to enhance movement, release restrictions and decrease pain along with mental and muscular stress. Gigi is certified in I.A.S.T.M (instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization) through Graston Technique (Level 1 & 2) and Evidence-Based Clinical Cupping through Cupping Canada. She specializes in Swedish/Therapeutic, Trigger Point, Cupping and IASTM, along with Deep Tissue and medical massage techniques.

With slow, intuitive and focused muscular attention, Gigi aims her sessions towards relief from limitations. Using a mix of cultivated techniques with her clients renews Gigi’s belief in the power of the body to self-heal. Gigi’s main mission as a therapist is to serve as a catalyst for the recovery process with clients that creates a domino-effect in their journey of self-work to live in a better state of being.

Apart from being an avid facilitator of massage, Gigi enjoys being one with nature & hiking, losing herself in sci-fi/fantasy books, trying new restaurants with her favorite people and turning up the volume to music and dancing freely. Gigi’s next plan in her massage world is to learn Craniosacral Therapy and Thai Massage techniques.
