Another year in the books, almost! We hope everyone is doing well and want to give a BIG THANK YOU to all of our donors that have contributed this year. Your contribution makes it possible for us to continue our worthwhile cause in support of VCU Massey Cancer Center's Brain Tumor Research and Awareness programs. We are completing our 2022 fundraising activities and will again donate $5,000 to the VCU Massey Cancer Center. This year POPTAP has been recognized as a member of the Virginia Commonwealth University's President's Club for annual giving.

Dear Family and Friends,
Thirteen years ago today I was diagnosed as having a brain tumor (happens to be my birthday too). POPTAP is excited to invite everyone to view our newly redesigned website at https://poptap.org. Our website designer Lorna Yarberry of lornadigital.com added so many interesting, informative, and fun features. On the Contact page, check out the 'post my picture' feature. This section is for those of you who would like to add a photo of yourself or loved one sporting your POPTAP gear. Simply go to the Contact page to add your photo. We will be sure that you are added to the gallery. As always we are forever grateful for your continued support and donations. We are happy that 2020 is in the rearview mirror and are looking forward to a bright and healthy 2021.

* * * POPTAP TOPS $50,000 IN DONATIONS TO THE VCU MASSEY CANCER CENTER * * *

Good Morning,
We had a wonderful day this past Monday. Brian and I met with Dr. Mark Malkin, Director of the Neuro-Oncology Program and Ocelia Hudson, Donor Engagement Coordinator from the VCU Massey Cancer Center to make a gift of $23,000. This boosted our 4 year total to more than $50,000 in total contributions in support of Massey's Brain Tumor Research programs. As Dr. Malkin mentioned to us, "rest assured we will use these funds in the most responsible way".
Personally, this is always a tiny bit emotional for me. Nearly 9 years ago I was extremely fortunate when diagnosed with a brain tumor that was treated successfully. This year several folks that we have touched based with weren't as fortunate as me. The sharing of positive messages can mean so much to others and give them the inspirational lift they may need to face their personal challenges. It's more apparent how important our POPTAP fundraising efforts have become in helping to discover more effective ways to treat those diagnosed with brain tumors.

I thank you for your generosity and you should feel proud to be a part of this gift. Once again, thank you so very much and have a happy, safe, and healthy Christmas and New Year. We are looking forward to a successful 2017.

The fifth annual POPTAP Charity Golf Tournament was held on Monday July 11, 2016 at Salisbury CC with Family and Friends. Proceeds will benefit the VCU Massey Cancer Center's Brain Tumor Research & Awareness Programs. We had great weather, lots of fun, and a successful event for a worthwhile cause.
A BIG THANKS to the 144 Golfers, Volunteers, Salisbury Country Club staff, and our generous Sponsors and Donors in making it happen! ! !

Hi Everyone,
We had the best day yesterday. Brian and I had a private tour of the Goodwin Research Lab facility which is part of the VCU Massey Cancer Center. Dr. Justin Sperlazza conducted the tour and explained in terms that we could understand what they do in these labs to learn about cancer cells and treatments. He stressed how much community involvement is needed in supporting their efforts. At the end of our one hour tour we presented a $17,500 check to Lauren Kiger, Assistant Director of Development Events at VCU Massey Cancer Center. (see attached)

I thank you for your support and generosity which enables POPTAP to continually contribute to brain tumor research and education. Again, many, many thanks and be sure to have a safe, happy, and healthy Christmas and New Year.

As we move ahead with our charitable planning for this year, we want you to know that POPTAP became a registered non-profit 501(c)3 charitable organization in 2013. Our focus will continue to be charitable fundraising via trademarked POPTAP merchandise, charitable contributions, online auctions, and the POPTAP Charity Golf Tournament.
Proceeds are donated to the VCU Massey Cancer Center; as well as to National Brain Tumor organizations.
