Today, I want to bring your attention to the pressing challenges our beloved community in Panaruu, Duk County, South Sudan is facing.
Over the past year, the dedicated team at JDF has been tirelessly working to combat a devastating cholera crisis in Panaruu and an alarming rise in malaria cases in Kadiang, Poktap, Padiet, Koat, Koldhiak, Mareng, and Karitha. The historic flooding has ravaged our crops and livestock, leaving families in dire need of support. These statistics represent more than just numbers; they embody the heart-wrenching struggles of mothers, fathers, and children who are bravely fighting for their lives and futures.
Since the dismantling of USAID funding in January, our usual support has been severely impacted. While we are grateful for the great leadership of our Board Chairman, Deng Johnson Malual Leek and contributions from private citizens here in the USA, but it is still not enough to meet the overwhelming needs of our community. With the successful drilling and installation of a water well, we are now witnessing the life-changing flow of fresh, clean water that will elevate our lives and lift our spirits. 💧

The journey has begun! We're thrilled to announce that water purification equipment is on its way to Panaruu, Koat, Karitha, and Padiet! 🌊✨
In just a few days, this state-of-the-art technology will be installed in all JDF facilities, ensuring that our patients and community members have access to clean, safe drinking water as part of our fighting Cholera and other waterborne diseases.

Today marks a monumental milestone as the drilling rig has successfully struck underground water in Kadiang! Our community can now look forward to accessing much-needed clean water from a motorized water well. This is a game-changer for us! 💧✨ But the celebration doesn’t stop here! We are eagerly anticipating the next drilling in Baai Alath soon, continuing our journey towards sustainable water access.

Tomorrow, the team will embark on a noble mission to dig wells in Kadiang and Baai Alath to provide fresh water for our people.
