I am feeling the anguish, and desperation for my brothers & sisters to the new laws reported today. Displaced people internally and externally is one of the most horrific events we are experiencing This is one of the most critical moments that our generation has not witnessed. and now we will. I pray to be united and fill our hearts with love to give a hand without judgment. Sooner all humanity will face these issues that are happening internally. Just look around and you see Los Angeles, CA, and around the world many countries where their citizens are at high risk of losing their lives.
What can we do? Can we advocate to implement more humane immigration laws, such as providing a clear and fair pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants, which can significantly improve their lives and contribute to society's overall well-being? Yes, but takes perseverance, knowledge, and strength, I encourage people to educate themselves about the country's laws and learn about resources available, human rights, and civil rights to advocate or express informed opinions to avoid misinformation and hurt feelings without the need to. We know crimes not all of them come in from immigrants, every country faces high rates of crime.
Just to mention one example of an immigrant, but you can search and will find many more.
Dr. Alfredo Quiñonez-Hinojosa who became a renowned neurosurgeon, can inspire hope and demonstrate the resilience and potential of immigrants
How many Civil Rights have we seen more violated.
During a routine traffic stop an immigrant from India, was unlawfully detained by law enforcement officers who racially profiled him. Despite having all his documents in order, he was held for hours without explanation,
And Fatima, a refugee from Sudan, lives in overcrowded and unsafe housing conditions. She struggles to access basic necessities like clean water and healthcare, highlighting the broader human rights issues faced by many immigrants. How many immigrants suffer from depression and anxiety due to the constant stress of living and a new Country without proper support. The lack of access to affordable healthcare exacerbates their condition and makes it difficult for them to seek help. No mention of economic hardships, Ahmed, a skilled engineer from Syria, struggles to find a job in his field due to the lack of recognition of his foreign qualifications. He works long hours in a low-paying job to support his family, facing financial instability and limited opportunities for advancement.
In another case, Mai, a young woman from the Philippines, faces language barriers and cultural differences that make it difficult for her to integrate into her new community. She often feels isolated and misunderstood, which affects her mental health and sense of belonging.
Maria, an immigrant from Honduras has been waiting for over five years to get her green card. Despite having a stable job and p[paying taxes, the bureaucratic delays and complex legal process have left her in a state of uncertainty and fear of deportation.
I like to remember that an immigrant is a real person with a story, family, and dreams, like me. Always remember that.
