Sakya Care Foundation

Sakya Care Foundation SCF embarked on its journey in 2013 with a vision to provide holistic health care with compassion, understanding, and love to those in need.

Dear Family and Friends,

The Sakya Care Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that began on its humanitarian work since 2012. We are writing to invite your support for our seventh Humanitarian Medical Mission to
Vietnam, taking place in June & July 2026. With your compassion and generosity, we hope to make this mission a success and bring much-needed care to underserved communities.
This year’s mission will include a professional team of approximately 150 volunteers, including physicians, dentists, optometrists, pharmacists, nurses, and other general volunteers committed to serving others. Our team will travel to the rural regions of Central Vietnam, where many generations of families
face poverty and still depend on rice farming to live. Our goal is to provide medical, dental, vision, and pharmacy care to more than 5,500 individuals who face significant barriers to healthcare due to
financial hardship and geographical isolation. Because of the high cost of shipping equipment and donated goods internationally, monetary donations are the most effective way to support our mission.

With your donation, we can purchase essential
supplies such as medications and eyeglasses locally in Vietnam at a much lower cost. For example:
- $15 provides supplies for dental procedures to maintain health teeth for 1 individual
- $15 supplies medications and vitamins for a malnourished child
- $20 provides a pair of eyeglasses, giving someone the gift of sight
In addition, each patient who receives a medical check-up will be given a community service ‘goody bag’ containing essential items such as rice, noodles, cooking oil, clothing, school supplies, and other necessities. A donation of $15 provides one of these goody bags to a patient of need.

We gratefully accept donations through the following methods:
1. Zelle: sakyacare@gmail.com
2. Check, payable to:
Sakya Care Foundation - Memo “Vietnam Mission 2026”
11427 Jones Rd
Houston, TX, 77070
3. Credit card with a small fee on our website:
http://www.sakyacare.org/wp/donation/donate-now/
Donations help sustain our organization and directly benefit the communities we serve. As a 501(c)(3) organization, your contribution is tax-deductible, and 100% of all donations go directly toward serving those in need. We deeply appreciate your kindness and thank you for helping
make this mission possible.

Sincerely,
Sakya Care Foundation

Dear all,

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all our supporters for entrusting SCF with the ex*****on of another successful mission in Bodh Gaya, India. Our efforts yielded a stronger outcome than anticipated. Initially, we planned to serve approximately 4,800 patients; however, we ultimately registered 5,489 patients. The majority of these individuals received medical, pharmacy, and dental or vision services. Additionally, we served 440 students who received dental treatment exclusively.

The total number of patients seen by each department is as follows:
1. Medical: 5,400*
2. Dental: 2,324
3. Vision: 2,373
4. Prescriptions dispensed: 14,523

*Some patients opted out of medical services, as they felt they did not need them.

We would like to express our deepest appreciation to all 26 volunteers from the USA and approximately 100 Indian workers for their compassionate and tireless dedication to serving the indigent population of Bodh Gaya. Without your trust, support, and commitment, SCF would not have been able to successfully execute its mission.

SCF also received support from Minh Quang Temple (Chicago, Illinois) and Tu Viện Hồng Đức (Des Moines, Iowa) in distributing gifts to each patient who underwent the clinic process.

Five hundred twenty students from Siddhartha Compassion School received school supplies, including backpacks, notebooks, pens, pencils, and cash.

Let us continue to build on the momentum of love, compassion, and giving. We kindly request that you continue to support SCF as it prepares for its next mission in Vietnam in 2026, which will take place in Hue and Quang Tri. SCF is still in need of healthcare professionals, including doctors/NP/PAs, dentists, dental hygienists, ophthalmologists, optometrists, and pharmacists.

4 days into our India medical, dental, vision, and pharmacy mission, and we have already seen over 3,000 patients! It’s been a blessing to be able to serve and meet everyone, including patients. The song title is “Come With Me and You’ll See Why”, which is why I chose dentistry and do what I do. Words cannot express what I see and how much a small kindness could make such a great impact on someone’s life. Thank you, Sakya Care Foundation, for giving us this opportunity to serve and give back to those in need. I look forward to doing more. 🙏
