Nonverbal child? Now what?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

*⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My daughter has a genetic disorder, qualifies as nonverbal autistic, along with other challenges. Raising a nonverbal child presents its own unique challenges. Each child struggles regardless of any diagnosis, or lack of diagnosis. My clients often ask what I do to help my daughter besides movement lessons. Hopefully solutions I have found useful can benefit other families. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Recently I found a new way to get a glimpse of how my daughter is feeling emotionally and physically. The doTERRA iTOVi scanner is a new essential in our home. I now have a new way of learning about how she is feeling. This is gold for us!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Layla struggles with being able to communicate her feelings and any discomfort. We are on our second month of using the scanner which has helped me detect her starting to get sick as well as helped me know which emotional areas were needing more attention. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Parenthood is a journey. Although we don’t have a manual, we can help each other along the way. I believe it does take a community to raise children. I am thankful to people in my community who help me continually brainstorm thoughts and ideas on how to best help my daughter.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Each year about 2.5 million people have a traumatic brain injury. Any time the brain is injured memory loss can happen. Brain injuries often lead to memory loss. Luckily our brains have plasticity and can learn and relearn. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
