As OT Month comes to a close, we’re grateful to highlight Casey Perkins & Elena Taylor for their dedication to patient care and the life-changing impact occupational therapy can have. One of Elena’s patients shared her story of hope, healing, and progress through OT- read her powerful testimony below. 💜
“In honor of Occupational Therapy Month, I want to recognize my incredible OT, Elena Taylor at Dynamix.
Just one year ago, I was diagnosed with the most aggressive form of scleroderma. It caused the skin on my hands, arms, and shoulders to tighten, leading to my fingers curling and a significant loss of mobility in my hands, wrists, and shoulders. When my doctors told me that the progression I had already experienced was irreversible, I was devastated. As an independent 40-year-old woman who loves teaching and living life to the fullest, it was devastating.
Then I met Elena and started occupational therapy and physical therapy at Dynamix, and everything began to shift.
She didn’t just treat me, she took the time to deeply understand my condition. She researched, learned, and created a plan tailored specifically for me. One of the most impactful parts of my treatment has been laser therapy, something I had never even heard of before. Elena introduced it with intention and confidence, and it has truly been a game changer in my recovery.
Through laser therapy, along with her expertise and encouragement, I’ve experienced progress that I was once told wasn’t possible. Areas that once felt tight and immobile are loosening. Movements I thought I had lost are slowly returning. It has given me hope, healing, and tangible results.
At every progress note, we’re setting new goals, and I’m continuing to gain mobility I never thought I’d see again.
Elena and the entire team at Dynamix have truly been life-changing for me. I am so thankful for the way they invest in their patients, think outside the box, and never settle for “this is as good as it gets.”
Happy Occupational Therapy Month to those who help people reclaim their lives- you are making a difference in ways that go far beyond what can be measured. 💛”
