I say it all the time, but Beth truly have the best stories!! ❤️ It’s worth the read!
Story time!
When the float tanks in my float center were finally ready to be used, I was in desperate need of a float.
Building a small business is hard. Building a small business in an area where nobody really understands what you’re doing (you know, for things like permits and inspections) is all the more adventure-y 🤣
Plus, float tank installation isn’t quite as straight forward as it might appear 🤣
Anyway. I couldn’t wait another minute to get in
The problem? The showers didn’t work yet AND the doors to the float tank suites didn’t have handles…or, perhaps more importantly, locks.
If you’ve never been in a float tank, it’s important to know they’ve got about 1,000 lbs of Epsom salt in them and, in order to encourage the reduced sensory stimulus that nurtures our minds into deep meditative rest, it’s recommended to float in one’s birthday suit.
Obviously, I contemplated these things deeply and weighed them against each other - carefully considering how many contractors had keys to the building, how many might decide to work late that day, and how many might be inclined to randomly open the tank I happened to be using.
Eventually, I shrugged my shoulders, decided that if contractors showed up we’d just all be surprised together 🤣, showered at home, packed a towel, and off I went to float.
You might think I couldn’t relax, but the opposite was true.
My body and mind so deeply needed the reset that it was a powerful session.
And no contractors decided to work late. 🙏🤣
This was on the drive home when I was still covered in drying salt.
I still can’t believe it’s been 7 years since that day or how many hundreds of floats I’ve had since.
This salty solution still buoys my sanity and has been a saving grace through massive life changes, grief, stress, pain, struggle, and challenge.
I was as grateful for that float as I have been for every single once since. ❤️
