As World Acupuncture Day comes to a close, I’m overcome with gratitude and awe for this medicine.

My Bell’s Palsy diagnosis was absolutely terrifying. After the steroids ran out, I felt scared and abandoned by primary and conventional medicine. That’s when I found Dr. Olivia, and she became my saving grace.

When I first walked in, I had zero control over the left side of my face, with constant pain in my cheek and jaw. The transformation started immediately. After just one treatment, the mental shift was instant. And this really meant a lot for me. Dr. Olivia’s calming presence and her expertise made all the difference. For the first time, a doctor actually explained to me the ‘how’ and ‘why’ behind what was happening to me and laid out a clear, confident strategy to fix it. I finally felt hope.

The Timeline of My Recovery:

· Visit 1: Immediate mental relief and a renewed sense of hope.

· Visits 2 & 3 (Within 2 Weeks): A SIGNIFICANT difference! Mobility was returning to the upper half of my face, and my blinking started to return to normal.

· Visits 4 & 5: She worked her magic on my cheek and I can drink from a bottle without a straw again (a simple joy I thought I lost forever.)😭

So after my initial visits for Bell’s Palsy, I was feeling great and went in for another appointment. Dr. Olivia’s reaction to my progress was so genuine, it’s very obvious she LOVES what she does. Seeing her celebrate my success was just as moving as the treatment itself.

Then, I had the opportunity to speak with her about my complicated, ongoing back pain. A diagnosis rare enough that I normally have to explain it to my own primary. She had knowledge that I literally have to spell out for other professionals, giving me insight into a condition for which I’d only ever been given a name (and that the hospital later tried to change 🫠).

For years, doctors only saw my pain as a prescription to be managed. refusing all painkillers since 2016- yet every new doctor seeing me as a candidate for drugs, not healing.I literally became silent about my pain. After meeting Dr. Olivia, I can say I feel safe to discuss it with her knowing I’ll be offered a solution, not a script. 🤯

Dr. Olivia, here! This past weekend I had the incredible opportunity to learn from one of the most esteemed Chinese Medicine doctors in the country, Dr. Jing Liu, as well as her talented associate Dr. Wang.

Dr. Liu is the only doctor in the country who mentored closely enough with the most renowned neurological specialist of 20th century China, Dr. Shi Xue Min, to be allowed to teach his material.

I am infinitely grateful to them for the techniques I’ve learned to further support my patients with severe neurological conditions, such as stroke, Parkinson’s, MS, tremors, ataxia, and so much more. I feel invigorated and so, so lucky to be able to bring back this knowledge to our beloved Milford, PA and beyond!

It is the greatest honor of my life to help those who are suffering with conditions that Western medicine has run out of options to treat, and return to them the function they need to live out their lives with more dignity, independence, and joy.
