How to Choose Medical Products That May Be Less Likely to Cause the Munchies For many patients in the medical program, cann*bis can be an important part of symptom management. But not every patient wants the “munchies.” While increased appetite may help some people, others may want products that are less likely to trigger hunger — especially if they are trying to manage weight, blood sugar, eating habits, or daytime focus. The good news is that not all products affect appetite the same way. In general, THC is most associated with increased appetite, while products with higher CBD or THCV may be less likely to cause strong hunger signals. However, no product is guaranteed to be munchies-free, and each person may respond differently depending on dose, product type, and individual body chemistry.
