Flu cases are rising quickly across Massachusetts, and Milford Regional Medical Center is seeing the impact firsthand. Dr. Jeanne McCoy, chair of pediatrics at Milford Regional Medical Center, says the surge in sick children has come on faster than in past seasons, with a sharp jump in positive flu tests over just a few days.

“This year, it started a little more abruptly, and the number of cases we saw became much higher at a much faster rate than we’re usually seeing,” Dr. McCoy said.

Our Tree of Life ceremony brought together 75 attendees and raised $23,000 for the Oliva Fund for Cancer Care.

This year we honored Louis “Lou” Bertonazzi, a beloved Milford resident and retired senator. His family’s presence reminded us of the true spirit of this event—hope, care, and community!

Milford Regional Medical Center offers free discussion groups for new parents that provide support, advice and a sense of community to share experiences and resources. Beginning in December, these discussion groups will meet virtually.

– Postpartum provides support and discussion for postpartum parents with babies under 12 months of age.

– Tiny Tummies for breastfeeding or formula feeding parents and their babies offering an opportunity to support and encourage one another.

– ParentTalk provides an opportunity for moms and dads to connect with fellow parents.
