There have been 2 accidents so far on the back roads of Amherst this morning. If you’d like to switch your appointment to virtual (or reschedule), please text me.

The office has no power, no heat, no internet, and no access to electronic medical records. Currently, there is no estimate for restoration.

12/21/2024

The office is open today, as my fever is resolved. I am not contagious, as the cause is Lyme.

12/20/2024

The office will be closed today, as I have a temp of over 103 due to Lyme. I rescheduled the two patients on my schedule. If I accidentally missed rescheduling you, please text me.

9:30 am check in tomorrow for surgery. Surgery will take 3-4 hours with 4 hours of observation after. If there are no complications, we can go home. We were instructed to bring overnight bags in case.
In light of this, I’m looking at being at the hospital for at least 8 hours tomorrow and don’t know when I’ll be back home. So, I’m going to close the office Wednesday as well.

11/25/2024

The office will be closed Tuesday as one of the kiddos needs surgery. I have noon and 1 pm available tomorrow in case people need to be seen. I don’t know yet if I’ll be open Wednesday because I don’t know how the surgery will have gone. I’ll be off Thursday and Friday for thanksgiving. Saturday will be my typical hours. Thank you for understanding. I’ll post again once I have an update to share.

10/29/2024

The office will be closed Thursday October 31 as one of the kiddos has to see a specialist in Boston. Thank you for understanding.

Howdy everyone. I am letting you all know that I went into anaphylaxis for unknown for the third time in a month yesterday evening. Thankfully these last two episodes didn’t affect my airway so I was able to avoid the hospital. But I’m currently on Benadryl every 4-6 hours to stop my lips and eyes from swelling, and I’m definitely not my usual self. My schedule will be a bit wonky while I get a ton of labs done to get to the bottom of this.

Part 1: Friendly Reminder - the office is closed for today due to Joey’s graduation
Part 2: Anaphylaxis Update - I’m doing a little better. My left eye is still pretty puffy and my skin on my face looks awful with broken capillaries from the swelling on Wednesday. I’m having to take H1 blockers every 6 hours, H2 blockers every 12 hours and I’m on a steroid taper just to function. I’ll be open tomorrow from 9-3, but I’m already booked solid. If you need to be seen tomorrow, please utilize urgent care. The office is closed Sunday and Monday as usual. I do have plenty of openings next week. So reach out in the next couple days if you need an appointment.

Hi all. It’s Dr. O here. Yesterday was quite the doozy after a 911 call and ambulance transport (lights and sirens. It was quite, um, exciting?) with 2 epinephrine injections to keep me alive. The ER was able to stabilize me and stop/slow the reaction. I was held there for 5 hours, until no new symptoms appeared and no worsening of current symptoms occurred. I got home a bit before midnight.
I’m definitely tired today and dealing with side effects of the multiple meds that I needed. I will see a couple patients that are on my schedule today, taking it slow and trying to recover.
Please know that I don’t quite look like myself. Yesterday afternoon, my entire face was so swollen that Vinny said it looked like I’d faced Mike Tyson in the ring. Today, my eyes are still puffy. My lips still puff out a bit when I’m due for meds. And I have purple squiggles all over my face from how much swelling there was. So I’ll be taking it slow today. And I’ll be seeing just one patient tomorrow, as we have a kiddo who just turned 18 and is graduating tomorrow. I’m hoping to be back to normal for Saturday.

Dr. O is in the ER after a 911 call for a serious anaphylactic reaction. It is unknown at this time if she will need to be admitted or if she will need observation for a period of time. It is not yet known if she will be able to work tomorrow.
