Summer is a great time of year to be moving freely indoors and even more special outside on your patio. Entertaining loved ones, hosting friends or neighbors who have accessibility concerns can be a real challenge for people not able to join in on the fun. Whether your needs are for greater access into your home or having mobility to get down steps out to your backyard, our Ramp and Outdoor Stairlift Rental program might be perfect for you!

Rentals are also great options for those returning home from surgery or actively recovering with home rehab that may not need a permanent ramp installed.

Whether renting for a few weeks or a few months, our team will set up and remove fully modular ramps and outdoor stairlifts to create greater mobility to your home in just one day.

When it comes to renovating a bathroom to enhance accessibility, particularly for seniors or individuals with mobility challenges, understanding the distinction between a tub cut and a roll-in shower is crucial. Both solutions aim to make bathing safer and more convenient, yet they cater to different needs and spaces.

A tub cut, also known as a bathtub conversion, is a modification process where a section of the existing bathtub wall is cut out to lower the step-over height, making it easier to enter and exit the tub. This solution is particularly appealing because it's cost-effective, and the installation process is quick, typically completed within a day. The tub cut retains the functionality of a bathtub while significantly reducing the risk of falls. It's an ideal choice for those who wish to preserve the option of taking a bath, but need a safer, more accessible entry.

On the other hand, a roll-in shower is designed for individuals who use wheelchairs or who find stepping over a threshold challenging. Unlike a tub cut, a roll-in shower is a completely barrier-free shower area. It requires more extensive renovation as the existing bathtub or shower stall is removed to create a flat, often slightly sloped floor that allows direct access by rolling in a wheelchair or walking in without any obstruction. This option provides the highest level of accessibility and safety, but it's also more costly and requires more time to install compared to a tub cut.

Choosing between a tub cut and a roll-in shower depends on individual needs, budget, and the bathroom's existing layout. A tub cut is a quick, budget-friendly solution for those who can stand but need easier access, while a roll-in shower offers the best accessibility for wheelchair users or those who prefer a completely barrier-free option.
