Flax seeds are one of the oldest cultivated plants used for food and medicine. Can they be helpful for cancer care?
I recommend 1-2 Tbs of ground organic flaxseeds on many of my Mediterranean Nutrition Programs offered online... Here's some research to show why:
"According to reports from the World Health Organization (WHO) [20,21], unhealthy eating habits and lack of physical activity contribute to about 30% of cancer-related deaths. Approximately one-third of diagnosed cancers could be prevented or mitigated by promoting physical activity and adopting healthier dietary habits. Various studies, including those conducted by the European Medicines Agency, support the potential benefits of plants used in traditional cancer medicines. Flax, a globally significant agricultural crop, is abundant in bioactive molecules that may possess anti-cancer properties. The biological activity of dietary proteins often leads to the development of bioactive peptides released during digestion in the gastrointestinal tract. These peptides can enter the bloodstream by crossing the digestive epithelial barrier, enabling them to reach distant organs and provide beneficial effects for the organism [22]."
