Alyssa Alfano, BS

Alyssa graduated from Southern Connecticut State University in 2025 with her Bachelors degree in Psychology and a minor in Mathematics. During her summer internship at MR&A, she saw firsthand the positive impact of ABA therapy,
inspiring a deep appreciation for the field. Through personal experiences and coursework, Alyssa has developed an understanding and appreciation for the challenges of neurodiversity and is excited for the opportunity to make a difference.

In her free time, Alyssa enjoys relaxing with a good book, spending time with friends at local coffee shops, and expressing her creativity through crafts.

Samantha Major

Samantha “Sam” is a senior at Sacred Heart University, majoring in psychology with a strong interest in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. Her passion for working with children, helping them develop new skills, build confidence, and reach their full potential, developed through her experiences babysitting in high school and interning at MR&A. Sam is truly inspired by being a part of children's growth and achievements. Her daily goal is to create a positive, supportive environment where every child feels valued, loved, and capable of success. After graduation, Sam plans to pursue further education to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

In her free time, Sam enjoys working out, hiking, and spending time with friends and family.

Andy Geltman, MS, OTR/L

Andy is a dedicated occupational therapist passionate about helping children reach their fullest potential through play-based, functional, and family-centered interventions. Andy earned a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Springfield College, where he gained comprehensive training in evidence-based practice, assessment and intervention for children with diverse developmental and physical needs. Before completing his Master’s Degree, Andy obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and an Associate’s Degree in Business Management from Albertus Magnus College.

Before transitioning to a career as an occupational therapist, Andy spent 13 years working as an electrical installer at the Sikorsky Aircraft division of Lockheed Martin. His decision to switch careers was driven by a desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children, leading him to pursue a path where he could have a more direct and lasting impact.

Andy’s diverse background supports a compassionate, well-rounded approach to therapy focusing on building children’s confidence, independence, and engagement in everyday activities while fostering collaboration with families, caregivers, and educational teams. Andy is excited to offer occupational therapy services at MR&A, providing children and families with comprehensive, high-quality care in a familiar and supportive environment.

Julia Case, BA

Julia graduated from the University of Connecticut in May 2025 with a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development and Family Sciences. Her academic background has provided her with a strong understanding of human growth, development, and family dynamics, which she is eager to apply in her career.

Julia has extensive experience working with children through babysitting for families over the years, where she provided reliable care, support, and engagement tailored to each child’s needs. It was through babysitting and supporting children's growth where Julia discovered her interest in ABA therapy. She has also worked as a lifeguard where she prioritized safety and leadership in a summer camp environment. Beyond her professional roles, Julia is a dedicated member of HuskyTHON, an annual charity event supporting Connecticut Children’s Hospital.

Outside of work, Julia enjoys spending time with family and friends, being active and exploring new experiences. She is passionate about supporting children, families, communities, and making a positive impact in the lives of children and families! Alecia Bernetti, BA

Alecia graduated from Southern Connecticut State University in 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a concentration in Mental Health. During her time at SCSU, she worked as a research assistant and completed an internship at a nonprofit organization supporting adults with mental illness. These hands-on experiences confirmed her passion for the mental health field and her desire to work closely with children and families.

Alecia is especially excited to be in the early stages of children’s lives and can’t wait to make a positive impact. She is thrilled to start her journey in ABA and to be part of the MR&A team, where she looks forward to using her background and enthusiasm to help families thrive.

Charlie Youngs, BA

Charlie recently graduated from Penn State with a bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation and Human Services. During the summer of 2024, Charlie interned with MR&A and fell in love with this work. After interning with MR&A, Charlie worked as the Lead Behavioral Therapist at a specialty school in State College, Pennsylvania while completing his degree. While working at MR&A he intends to continue his education by researching graduate programs closer to home. He is excited to begin his role as an ABA therapist at MR&A and eager to learn as much as possible from this opportunity.

Julia Stellato, BA

Julia graduated from Sacred Heart University in the spring of 2025 with a BA in psychology. She took courses relating to adolescent development, psychopathology, and cognitive psychology. Her passion for ABA therapy was ignited during a previous internship, a field she is eager to continue exploring. Julia also brings a wealth of experience working with children, having taught numerous swim lessons at the Fairfield YMCA in CT.

Mia graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in counseling and student services, with a minor in child and adolescent mental health. Throughout college she found her passion and love for child development and early childhood education. Mia has always had a passion for working with children and has worked in many childcare settings. Mia spent a lot of her summers as a camp counselor and preschool teacher. She has always wanted to have a positive impact on children and make others happy. In her free time Mia enjoys watching documentaries, listening to podcasts, and cooking all sorts of different meals. Olivia Menchell, BA

Olivia completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Purchase College in May 2025. During her time at the Purchase Counseling Center, she focused on supporting students facing challenges related to interpersonal violence and mental health. Additionally, she has experience as an Assistant Preschool Teacher. While residing in Los Angeles, Olivia volunteered at the Claris Health Center, providing daily care to children in need. Her interest in Applied Behavior Analysis developed through her work as a primary caregiver for a child with Smith-Magenis Syndrome. Over the past few years, she has also been involved with the Youth Service Opportunities Project, a non-profit organization where she leads intergenerational blanket-making projects in local schools.

Looking ahead, Olivia intends to pursue a Master’s degree in Social Work in the Fall of 2026, with the goal of becoming a Child Psychologist. Outside of her academic and professional pursuits, Olivia enjoys playing guitar and tennis, spending time with friends, and traveling.

Dejeana “DJ” Peoples

Dejeana “DJ” graduated from Purchase College in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Sociology.

While in college, DJ was a key player on her basketball team, demonstrating strong commitment and leadership. Her passion for the sport continued after graduation as she became a youth basketball coach. In this role, she mentored young athletes, helping them develop their skills while also instilling the values of teamwork, discipline, and empowerment.

Beyond athletics, DJ made a significant contribution at STEER, where she supported students in creating effective goal plans. She guided them in setting realistic objectives, monitored their progress, and emphasized the importance of mental health and wellness. DJ fostered a supportive environment where students felt comfortable discussing their mental well-being, promoting a healthy balance in their academic, personal, and athletic pursuits.

Overall, DJ's diverse experiences as an athlete and mentor showcase her genuine dedication to helping others achieve success in all aspects of their lives. Her commitment to promoting mental wellness and her leadership in youth sports are truly inspiring.

Office Administrative Assistant

Jesse is a recent graduate of Adelphi University with a BS in Sport Management. While at Adelphi, Jesse worked for the University as an Event Assistant, held an administrative position with Northwell Health, volunteered regularly at the on-campus food pantry, and worked in the fitness center as a trainer of 2 neurodiverse students with their athletic training. In high school, Jesse was a Unified Sports peer mentor for students on the autism spectrum for 3 school years, which was that experience that helped Jesse recognize his passion for helping others and working in a facility that includes and involves children on the autism spectrum. During his spare time, Jesse enjoys watching and playing sports, gaming, and spending time with his family, friends, and his dog. Jesse is excited for his new role as part of the administrative team!
