Pet therapy and pet visitation have been scientifically proven to benefit hospitalized patients. At Milford Hospital, we are fortunate to have several pets and their partners on our volunteer staff. However, it's not only our patients, but our entire staff, that benefit from these welcome visits. Thank you Mike and Cody for sharing your time and special form of therapy with our team!

Thank you Milford Hospital Auxiliary! Early this afternoon, Auxiliary President, Suzanne Beliveau, and hospital leadership gathered to unveil new ultrasound equipment being purchased with the funds raised by the Auxiliary during the last year. The technologically advanced machine is known to provide superior clinical performance and imaging allowing us to better serve our patients and our clinicians.

Once again our friends from the United Way of Milford and the Woodruff Family YMCA have joined forces to bring you the Milford Harbor Duck Race! The event will take place this weekend, on Saturday June 1st. Ducks are still available for "adoption." Proceeds from the event allow both the United Way and the Y to provide extensive financial and operational support to numerous programs, organizations, service providers and other fortunate recipients throughout the Milford community. Last Wednesday, Milford Mayor Ben Blake proclaimed May 22nd, 2019 Emergency Medical Services for Children Day at a ceremony held at Milford Hospital. The purpose of the event was to raise awareness about pediatric emergency preparedness and recognize emergency professionals for their work and commitment to caring for children. Milford Hospital Pediatric Champion, Shaileen Morton and Milford EMS were reconized for their efforts to ensure first responders and hospital ER staff are equipped with the training and resources necessary to address the unique needs of pediatric patients. Special thanks to Connecticut EMS-C Pediatric Readiness Program and Dr. Marc Auerbach for providing training, clinical resources and educational support.

As part of the National Hospital Week Celebrations, on May 16th, the Milford Hospital Auxiliary's Enchanted Window Gift Shop presented a check to hospital President and CEO, Mark Toney. Special thanks to Gift Shop Manager, Marla Russell, Auxiliary President, Suzanne Believeau and all the volunteers who work in the Gift Shop! Their collective efforts generated $34,000 in income which was donated to the hospital.
