Dr. Sandy Amaker warmly opened the annual DVH Friends & Family Thanksgiving Dinner with the carving of the turkey. Joined by our dear Mr. Eaton, who stepped in to share his expertise, we enjoyed a moment of comfort and tradition that brings us all together.

Yesterday, DVH staff warmly hosted our 2nd Annual Resident & Family Thanksgiving Dinner. The event was joyful and offered a wonderful chance to express our heartfelt gratitude to the veterans we serve and their families for trusting us with their care.

We were delighted to welcome several special guests, including Secretary of State Charuni Patibanda-Sanchez, VA Secretary of State Karen Berry, Senator Lawson, and DCVA Commissioners Doug Hudson and Rick Rambo.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Rony Baltazar-Lopez, Alexis Webb from DOS, Tricia Saunders, Lorraine Nearpass, Alice Smith, and Christopher Antonik for volunteering to serve during the event. A special shout-out to the DVH staff, who consistently demonstrate what it means to be A Hero Serving Heroes!

The staff of the Delaware Veterans Home is proud and committed to providing the residents with the highest quality of care in a warm and friendly environment. Our competent team of professionals, support staff, and volunteers are resident-focused and devoted to the veterans who live at DVH.

We are honored to have been ranked among the top 12 nursing homes in Delaware for 2025. For us, it is a labor of love, but it certainly feels good to be told "job well done." CONGRATULATIONS TEAM!!!

The Veterans Home received a flow of gratitude from the youth of our surrounding communities. We had visits from Lake Forest Elementary, a performance by Clayton Elementary Choir and early Veterans Day celebration and donation drive hosted by WB Simpson Elementary. Thank you, we are grateful for your contributions and continued support 🙏 ❤️

The residents & staff at The Delaware Veterans Home are in full swing in preparation for Halloween. Annually, students from The Boys & Girls Club of Milford, DE, stop by for pre-planned trick or treating. As you can see, the pumpkins are carved & we are fully armed with candy & treats. Friday, we will also have our Pumpkin Carving & Costume Contest. LET THE GHOUL ARRIVAL BEGIN...
