Stuttering openly out in real life with clients! It truly was a lovely day! So much to choose from! Eye contact focus, talking with enough volume to be overheard stuttering vs reducing volume, regulating the nervous system, removing the filler word "like" while asking questions, and just plain old doing this period! Practicing confidence around stuttering, you're the expert, you set the stage. Getting power and autonomy back. 🎉👍♥️ We even had.. FUN!!! 😂😯

Nowadays Larry's story may not be fully accepted, which makes me sad, because I believe every person who stutters has a right to define overcoming and do whatever they want to with their stuttering, speech, and communication, even attain more fluency (gasp!) in whatever way works for them. Larry did this self-work 10 years ago. I'm excited for Larry's story to join the variety of others I have already debuted. I feel his experience is just as valuable as another person who stutters who found and chose voluntary stuttering, acceptance, cognitive work, and avoidance reduction etc. without the pieces Larry worked on.

I'm building a curated video library of HOPEFUL stories from those who stutter called Words of Wisdom on my YouTube channel. My fourth episode is Larry Stein...who suffered for decades with depression and it wasn't until his 50's that he dedicated two years of intense work independently on his communication to get to the place of happiness and freedom he is in now. Here it is! Subscribe to my channel to support this effort to get the variety of real stories out there so people hold on and have hope and never give up.

Larry shares how he got from feeling his stuttering was a curse, unhelpful speech therapy experiences as a child, how he finally was able to say his name in ...
