We are proud to spotlight team member Elaine Lofland - Unit Manager at PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital - Sussex Campus!

Elaine began her healthcare journey in 1981. During her tenure, she has experienced just how far this field has come. Elaine started at a time when CNA's provided hands-on care without the protective equipment we rely on today. Over the decades, she has continued to adapt and serve through countless changes in healthcare, including the unprecedented challenges of a global pandemic. Her dedication, experience, and compassion continue to positively impact both patients and colleagues every day. We are honored to recognize her remarkable journey and the lasting impact she continues to make for everyone who crosses her path. Thank you, Elaine, for your bright smile and being a part of the PAMily!

According to the CDC, about 12% of Americans have a diabetes diagnosis, while 27.6% live with undiagnosed diabetes. What’s more – 115.2 million Americans live with prediabetes, which means they are at risk of developing diabetes.

Fortunately, there are lifestyle factors you can control to lower your risk of a diabetes diagnosis or manage symptoms if you currently live with it.

April is Defeat Diabetes Month, and PAM Health is here to help with therapy programs that can improve function and address complications related to diabetes, such as wounds and heart, vascular, kidney, and nerve issues.

Thank you to all the volunteers who help organizations and their communities thrive!

April is Volunteer Month and our team was ready again this year with our annual park clean up. Our crew grabbed their bags and gloves and had a park clean up at Bicentennial Park in Milford. We love giving back to our community and volunteering our time in the same area we also provide care.

Losing a limb is a life-changing experience, as is receiving and adjusting to a prosthesis after an amputation.

During Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month, learn more about the tremendous effort that goes into adjusting to life after losing a limb:

Our team supported Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month by wearing orange yesterday. One of our favorite prosthetists, Charlie Hudson of Hudson Prosthetics, co-sponsor of our Amputee Support Group, joined our team in traveling to our local physicians to thank them for their care with limb loss patients and limb loss resources.

In April, we recognize Stress Awareness Month. Stress can cause serious mental and physical health issues, including symptoms of anxiety and physical symptoms such as fatigue or headaches. According to the American Psychological Association, feelings of loneliness and isolation can be significant sources of stress.*

Take time this month to re-prioritize connection and diving deeper into the values, hobbies, and activities that bring you joy.

On the road to recovery, emotional well-being is just as important as physical well-being!

We are also proud to partner with other organizations in our community to promote healthier outcomes for us all. We love getting out in our community, whether it’s volunteering at local events, hosting fun activities, or teaching about what PAM Health offers.
