$20 to participate as a judge.
All proceeds go to the children of Firefighter Terrance Cramer.

🩸 Battle of the Badges Blood Drive is back for its 8th Annual event! 💙
The Connecticut Epilepsy Advocate Foundation, American Red Cross, Milford Police, and Milford Fire are teaming up once again to save lives and this year they’re turning up the competition!
📅 Thursday, April 23, 2026 🕒 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM 📍 The Milford Campus of Bridgeport Hospital 300 Seaside Avenue, Milford, CT 06460 (Auditorium A, B, C)
First responders are putting their badges on the line, now it’s your turn to step up and donate blood! Every donation helps patients in our community and supports the important work of the Connecticut Epilepsy Advocate Foundation.

As clocks spring forward for Daylight Saving Time this weekend, use this moment to check your home smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) alarms—they’re essential for fire safety.

Quick steps:
- Test every alarm (press the button—listen for a loud beep).
- Replace batteries in battery-powered units
- For hardwired alarms, confirm they’re properly connected.
- Check the manufacture date on the back—most detectors last 5–10 years.

Working smoke alarms cut the risk of dying in a home fire by 60%. A quick 2 minute check this weekend, could save lives. Stay safe Milford!

Snow/ice can quickly block your exhaust, forcing deadly carbon monoxide back into the car. CO is invisible, odorless, and kills fast.

**Before running your engine:**
- Clear snow/ice from around the tailpipe
- Crack a window for fresh air
- Never run engine in enclosed space
- Feeling dizzy, nauseous, or confused? Get out & call 911 immediately

Especially critical when sheltering in your vehicle during storms or outages.
