Great opportunity!

Thanks to a grant from RIZE Mass, Malden Overcoming Addiction is offering a FREE Coach Recovery Academy!

Would you like to inspire hope, promote healthy living, and foster
optimism while connecting people with recovery support services? If so,
this training is perfect for you!

Thanks to a grant from the RIZE Massachusetts Foundation, Malden Overcoming Addiction is pleased to announce that it will host a CCAR Recovery Coach Academy in October. The training sessions will take place on October 3rd, 4th, 10th, and 11th, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM at the The Bridge Recovery Center.

The academy is limited to 30 participants. Those interested must apply by August 8th. The first 50 applicants will be notified by email during the week of August 24th and invited to attend an interview. Of these, 30 applicants will be chosen to participate in the academy.

To receive your certificate of completion, you must attend all four days of the training. One year of sustained recovery is required. Priority will be given to Malden residents and those working in the field.

Due to the increase in temperatures forecasted for this week, we will be opening Chris’ Corner- Recovery Resource Center at 12 Main Street Milford, MA as a cooling shelter. To provide relief for our unhoused friends and anyone else who may need to escape the heat.

Located at 12 Main Street in downtown Milford, the cooling shelter offers a friendly environment with convenience items available including snacks, bottled water, a charging station for your phones or other electronics, a television, or just resting to get out of the heat.

If you see anyone out on the streets or maybe the A/C in the house has stopped working and they need some relief, please share the cooling shelter information with them!

Hours are
Tuesday, July 15th from 10am - 5pm
Wednesday, July 16th from 10am - 7pm
Thursday, July 17th from 10am - 7pm
Friday, July 18th from 10am - 4pm

What a day we had Yesterday!!!

Thank you to everyone who came out yesterday to support our First Annual Kicking Addiction Kickball Tournament in honor of Christopher W. Swindell. Your energy, love, and support meant the world—especially as today marks the 7th anniversary of Chris’s passing. We know he would have been proud of the community that showed up and played their hearts out to fight addiction with hope, community and connection.

We’re kicking off in honor of Christopher W. Swindell, who we lost on July 13, 2018, after his courageous battle with addiction. This tournament celebrates his life and supports others on their path to recovery.
