Georgina brings extensive experience supporting children, adolescents, and families across a range of high-acuity settings. Her professional background includes work in juvenile hospital and residential mental health care environments, where she provided therapeutic support to young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs.
She also spent three years on a Youth Crisis Team, working directly with families navigating acute challenges such as school refusal, teenage self-harm and suicidal ideation, behavioural outbursts, and complex mental health diagnoses that significantly impacted daily functioning.

Through this series, Georgina combines clinical expertise with practical, compassionate guidance to equip parents with effective tools and strategies to better support their children’s emotional wellbeing.

Sometimes we have bad days… and that’s okay! But giving yourself permission to feel that way and knowing how to support yourself through it is essential. Without those two things the emotion becomes too big, takes control, and then you lose control and crisis happens.

My #1 trip in crisis prevention is, and always has been, REGULATION before RESOLUTION.

What helps you ground yourself?

Read all about my own personal emotional regulation journey on The Therapist Diaries! (No surprise to most… it includes Barbie and unicorns)

I hope you’re having a great Self Care Sunday and that you remember to be kind to your mind this week! You’re doing your best and you’re doing wonderfully 🩷💜

Love Languages & Soul Mates: The Key to Connection

You didn’t think I’d let Valentines Day go by without writing a post on soul mates did you? Especially as I’m currently writing from England, the birthplace of my favourite love stories!

But I wouldn’t be much of a therapist if I didn’t highlight the science behind the idea of “destiny” and “soul mates”. And I also wouldn’t be being honest with myself if I didn’t state that platonic relationships are just as/ if not more important than the romantic ones we share.

So this week the blog post is about all of that!

My challenge for you: after reading, take a few moments to think about what your love languages are, and do a relationship MOT with those closest to you- are your needs being met? And are you meeting theirs?

Let me know what you think, and as always, be kind to your mind 💜
