A hard pill to swallow πŸ’Š for the industry, but a necessary one, and a reason I'm so passionate about the menstrual cycle and female reproductive health. It's a gateway to respect and justice.

An end goal of mine is to get public policy and social change through becoming informed about it to respect it, respect women, and keep them safe and included having body autonomy and health justice.

I’m running my own little research project πŸ€“ and it could turn out to be really big; helping millions of women to improve their reproductive wellness and well-being 🌟

Do you or someone you know experience PCOS symptoms or have been diagnosed with this female hormone disorder?

It's BS that it's 1) allowed and 2) not common knowledge to us on how harmful processed ingredients are to the human body, let alone the human reproductive system.

This study was released yesterday and is soo cool! 🀩

β€œβ€These are basic fundamental things you’d think would have been answered 100 years ago.”

Central to their findings was that metabolism differs for all people across four distinct stages of life.

β€’ There’s infancy, up until age 1, when calorie burning is at its peak, accelerating until it is 50 percent above the adult rate.

β€’ Then, from age 1 to about age 20, metabolism gradually slows by about 3 percent a year.

β€’ From age 20 to 60, it holds steady.

β€’ And, after age 60, it declines by about 0.7 percent a year.

Once the researchers controlled for body size and the amount of muscle people have, they also found no differences between men and women.

As might be expected, while the metabolic rate patterns hold for the population, individuals vary. Some have metabolic rates 25 percent below the average for their age and others have rates 25 percent higher than expected. But these outliers do not change the general pattern, reflected in graphs showing trajectory of metabolic rates over the years.”

This information will help us as health and fitness professionals treat, heal, and prevent trauma from excessive dieting, yo-yo diets, fad diets, and more! 😎πŸ’ͺ🏼✨

It’s that time of year again where I cringe at about 50% or more of people running on the streets, paved paths, and sidewalks πŸ˜–

I can pick out simple ways to majorly fix running form in less than 5 seconds of watching someone run naturally.

It takes a lot to drop ones ego and admit their running may not be (and probably isn’t) the best thing for them.

to know during this time of year as the weather gets warm is that RUNNING IS NOT THE ONLY FORM OF EXERCISE to be fit, get healthy, or lose weight!!

In honor of my last month-ish before , I’ll be doing TBTs of little active Kelsey πŸ™ƒ Like & Follow this page to stay tuned each week!

Anndd in honor of , here’s my first fitness role model, My πŸ’•πŸ’˜πŸ’–

Really, both of my parents, but here we are doing a 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘡 workout 𝘴𝘡𝘒𝘡π˜ͺ𝘀 stretch πŸ˜‰πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ

I grew up seeing both of my parents be active in every way: rollerblading, jogging, mixed martial arts, gymnastics, volleyball...one of my favorite memories is going to our local bagel shop then going to my future high school track, eat on the bleachers, and run, twirl, and skip laps β˜ΊοΈπŸ‘£πŸ₯―πŸ‘Ÿβ˜€οΈ

I just love the thoughtfulness of them pulling the table up, so I can be at the same heigh to stretch my leg with my Mom.

This moment, the 90’s colors poppin, and baby landscape that’s now grown into huge trees give me all the feels πŸ’•πŸŒ±β€οΈπŸ’›πŸ’™

The life back then was definitely fitness and health.

We made the switch to health and fitness once my Dad got diagnosed with Type II diabetes due to the typical/β€œstandard” American diet (SAD) πŸ™„, and my Mom got diagnosed with aluminum poisoning.

We started to become a health conscious family by the time I was about 10 years old, learning about organic foods, super foods, glycemic index, toxins, and more.

My Dad reversed his Adult Onset Diabetes by eliminating the daily processed and overly sugared substances in his body, monitoring his blood sugar every morning (I used to prick my finger willingly with him πŸ˜†πŸ©Έ) and changing his diet to whole non processed and refined foods.

My Mom healed and has helped us as a family prevent any further poisoning through us eliminating heavy or excess metals in our diet - including what we cook with and put ON our bodies from deodorant to lotions.

This really is a journey and has become a lifestyle. Stopping or turning back would mean putting our health and literal lives and bodies at risk to a myriad of diseases.

I know not everyone has the privilege I did of growing up with the resources we did to heal and cure ourselves, and that’s why I do what I do now.
