This guys entire jaw was completely out of balance due to his TEETH!

It's the perfect time of the year to make sure your horses are able to grind and digest their food properly!

🦷 Tip Tuesday 🦷

📈 Horses teeth erupt about 2-3 mm per year. They can wear down unevenly if they chew hay, grain, or pasture differently --> which is why even horses with good diets still develop hooks over time.

🐴This guy just got to his new home, healthy, fat and happy. He has no exterior signs of dental problems..... but look at those points!!! 👀

❗️Just because your horse isn't having problems chewing doesn't mean they don't need a dental exam ❗️

💬 Muscle Monday 💬

Horses have a total of 700 muscles throughout their body.
🔸 100 -> Head / Neck
🔸 200 -> Forelimbs
🔸 250 -> Hindquarters
🔸 150 -> Back

55% of a horse’s total body weight is made of muscles!

After a long show season it’s time to recover and start planning ahead for next year! Get your horse on the schedule for this winter! They will thank you! 🫶🏼

‼️ OLDER HORSES NEED THEIR TEETH CHECKED TOO‼️

I’ve heard many of times “Ohhh he’s old he doesn’t need his teeth done”

❗️WRONG❗️

Older horses commonly develop several dental abnormalities due to age...
🦷 Wave Mouth 🦷 Cupping 🦷 Hooks & Ramps 🦷 Overgrown or Loose Teeth

Signs your older horse may have dental problems
❎ Dropping feed / quidding (hay balls)
❎ Weight loss or poor coat condition
❎ Bad breath or nasal discharge
❎ Slow eating or chewing only on one side
