Muscle testing is a powerful tool that I feel everyone should learn practice and use it to their advantage in their daily life.
If you would like to learn how to muscle test and also learn some simple protocols to help clear and balance your body I am giving a course called Introduction to Attuning to Full Potential Kinesiology on Friday 2nd of February at 9.30am until 3pm in Athenry Co. Galway.
Please DM myself for more detail

Working with the Central Meridian is very useful when we are feeling confused, full of shame or overwhelmed by life.
In these days, resilience is key!
The Supraspinatus is a relatively small muscle of the upper back and is one of the four rotator cuff muscles.
We call this muscle 'fig leaves' in the foundation training, as the line of motion is moving the hands into the mid line to 'cover your modesty'.
This muscle comes up in a kinesiology session when issues that affect the Central Meridian are creating a lack of balance, such as: overthinking, not understanding a situation or new concept, feeling 'blown about' by life's events, or being at the whim of others.
A favourite balancer is to rub, with some pressure, the join between the arms and the torso, especially for those who hunch over a computer or who drive alot.

The Psoas muscle in Kinesiology is associated with the Kidney meridian and is involved in both sitting up and kicking to the side, or side stepping. We call it 'Ballet dancers' in the foundation level training. If this muscle can't hold when a Manual Muscle Test is applied in a Kinesiology session we might be looking at issues such as: Are you trying to kick something out of the way or do you need to sit up and take notice of something? Issues with this muscle and meridian are more noticeable if we are deeply tired in body mind or spirit. To help balance the Kidney meridian gently hold the point in the V of the bottom of the foot known in acupuncture as ‘bubbling spring’. Warm foot baths where we rotate the ankles gently are particularly great too.

A fire element muscle today in honour of Summertime 🔥
The Sartorius muscle is the longest muscle in the human body. It is a long, thin, superficial muscle that runs down the length of the thigh.
It is associated with the Triple Warmer meridian, and therefore the Fire element.
Adrenal issues can show up as in the functioning of this muscle, and knee pain can be related to this muscle needing balancing.
Having enough/too much strength and passion are 'life metaphors' that might be worked with if this muscle comes up in a session.
Personally this muscle shows itself when I have gone a bit 'mind over matter' for too long, and have not listened to my body or my limits.

The 'Riding the wave of the 5 elements in business' podcast, with Bizology with Jo Soley

Jo talks to Sarah-Jayne about …
- The 4000 year old 5 element understandings from acupuncture that build a map allowing us to navigate growth, with prompts from the natural world.
- We each have the 5 elements within us, as known in the ancient understandings from acupuncture theory. By working with each element we can find the positive expression of them in health, relationships and business.
Here is a brief summary:
🔥 Fire: do you feel energised, excited, enthusiastic, want to laugh or feel drained, depressed, lacking in hope, dampened down or tired?
🌎 Earth: do you feel rooted, nourished, solid and grounded or disconnected, wobbly or worried about the future?
✨ Metal: do you feel flexible, free, able to breathe, connected to spirit, or sad want to cry, that you are holding-on or regretful?
🌊 Water: maybe you have feelings of flowing, good boundaries and gentleness, or fear and anxiety?
🌿 Wood: do you feel as though you want to get going, move forward, that you hold a dream or do you feel resentful, irritated, angry, as though you can’t get on or feel ‘stuck-in-the-mud'.
- How to begin to apply this understanding to ‘ride the wave’ of your business success- spoiler- it is not all about do do do!
- How these understandings may show up in your health and your relationships both within business and at home.

Stress: How we lose it.

When things are going well, the prefrontal cortex acts as a control center that keeps our baser emotions and impulses in check. The new research demonstrates that acute, uncontrollable stress sets off a series of chemical events that weaken the influence of the prefrontal cortex while strengthening the dominance of older parts of the brain. In essence, it transfers high-level control over thought and emotion from the prefrontal cortex to the hypothalamus and other earlier-evolved structures. As the older parts take over, we may find ourselves either consumed by paralyzing anxiety or subject to impulses that we usually manage to keep in check: indulgence in excesses of food, drink, drugs or a spending spree at a local specialty store. Quite simply, we lose it.

One of the muscles associated with the Fire element of Summer is the Teres Minor, which is a slim, narrow muscle within the rotator cuff, located in the shoulder.
It is involved in the external rotation of the shoulder joint. We call it the 'cross your heart' muscle in the foundation level kinesiology training.
This muscle is associated with the Triple Warmer Acupuncture meridian.
Issues range from being in continual fight/flight/freeze, feeling too hot/cold, having a balanced ability to be in open enough relationship with others and feeling there is harmony/chaos in life.
If you let your arms drop by your side and one of your hands is turned differently this may indicate a weakness in this muscle.
In times of high stress I check this every day to see if balancing is needed.
